Raclette

00_intro.jpg

Hi everyone,

I LOVE raclette. It's a Swiss dish of melted cheese, typically eaten with potatoes. In Germany we mostly eat it on New Years Eve, some people eat it on Christmas Eve.

In my childhood, we ate it on New Years Eve. So my hubby and I are continuing this tradition. Two years ago, we thought we can also make it on Christmas Eve (we didn't had a tradition for that day). We also started to make it on special days like birthdays, Valentines Day or our wedding anniversary.

Because we love it so much, we made a new tradition: every month when a specific TV show is on, we also make it. The TV show is called "Aktenzeichen XY … ungelöst". It's a show about real crimes that are unsolved and they need help from the viewers. It's like the US show "America's Most Wanted". It's once a month. So we have raclette at least once a month 😍

But we don't do it the regular way. The regular way is to put only the cheese in the little pans to melt it. We put everything into the pan and put the cheese on top. It's like a little casserole.

Time to heat things up

Because of the egg, I first put the pans ON the grill for a few minutes, and than I put them IN the grill. I also put the Kabanossi on the hot stone.

Later I put the chicken breast on the hot stone too.

And while they are grilling on top, the pans grill inside the grill 😊

When the Kabanossi and the chicken are done, I put them on my plate and wait for the pans that they get ready...

I take the food out of the pans.
