Birthdays can be stressful for minimalists.
What are some tricks you utilise to ensure your special day stays in line with your values? Do your loved ones respect your wishes?
Oh wow, this one's gonna be a challenge. I love birthdays (including my own :D) and do usually make a bit of a fuss over them. So this one's definitely gonna be food for thought.
Ok, I get that.
I like quiet celebrations. No parties and no gifts are necessary, certainly nothing elaborate. I would prefer something that makes me "feel", or anything that the giver "knows" means something special to me.
That way it seems like a genuine thought about me. Not just an elaborate gift for the giver to feel good about themselves.
However, since my minimalist journey (especially when I lived on a narrowboat), I could have placed a sign on the boat that says, "No Gifts Please"

Haha! Yes, wine was ALWAYS a great gift 😆
Birthday parties are fun, keeping it simple can be more fun you know, and a lot of people are not aware of that.
