When the Prayers Are Heard

My train is scheduled to depart at 3.00 pm and it's 2.35 on the clock and I am stuck in a traffic jam. I do still have 2 km to cover but sitting here on the jam was frustrating for me seeing the time ticking on and on. I got down and started walking, crossed the jam and the signal and then boarded on a rickshaw again to cover the last portion, reaching the railway station at 2.55 pm. Guess what, the train is scheduled for a late departure. It's going to be delayed today. Here I took so much stress and reached somehow on time and it's set to delay now. I won't lie that I did pray for it to be delayed a bit in case I don't reach on time, who knew that the prayers would be heard so fast?

After thirty minutes of delay, all the passengers were able to board their seats. Now every minute was increasing the frustration, it's so annoying to just sit and see something getting delayed. Now I am praying for it to make its departure as soon as possible because I was fasting so I need to reach home before time and join my family.

"ᵂᵒʳᵈˢ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵖⁱᶜˢ ᵃʳᵉ ᵐⁱⁿᵉ, ᵘⁿˡᵉˢˢ ᴵ ˢʰᵒᵘᵗᵒᵘᵗ ʷʰᵉʳᵉ ᵗʰᵉʸ ᶜᵃᵐᵉ ᶠʳᵒᵐ!"

The fun fact is, on the news feed of this train, lots of passengers are waiting at the other station for it to come and they would start their journey as well. There was one, who was still stuck in a traffic jam and commenting every minute to know the latest update. He is on the run to catch the train before its departure. Here every passenger is frustrated and cursing about the delays and there is someone who is constantly praying for it to be delayed a little more so that he doesn’t miss the train. What an irony of life! The same thing I did an hour ago, now I am praying the opposite and someone else is doing that now.

I did respond to his queries, helping him a little bit with the information. Well, he could appear before the train's departure. It got delayed for almost 45 minutes. They tried to cover up the delay by speeding at the max and avoiding any unnecessary delays. Fortunately, I reached home fifteen minutes before the time for my iftaar (time to break the fast) and I joined my family.

This was funny when I rewinded the whole scenario. Something I prayed for got accepted and I was thankful, later the same thing got accepted for someone else too but it was frustrating for me as well, maybe it was frustrating for many when I prayed for it in the first place too, wasn’t it?

Have a great day,
Take care!!

What we want sometimes is what some people don’t want. It’s funny how some people in that train may want it to get full on time because they are rushing but some people Ads praying for it to be very slow coz they are not in a haste
