Un viaje a mi infancia. || A trip to my childhood.

Hola mamis y papis de esta hermosa comunidad, el día de hoy no vengo hablarles como mamá sino como algo que también soy, hija y hermana. Y que sé que esta otra faceta de mi vida me ayuda cada día a ser mejor mamá.

Hello moms and dads of this beautiful community, today I come to talk to you not as a mom but as something that I am also, daughter and sister. And I know that this other facet of my life helps me every day to be a better mom.

Hace unos 15 días tuve la oportunidad de volver a mi casa de la infancia, allí crecí con mis hermanos y aunque pase momentos difíciles, como la muerte de mi madre, recuerdo que tuve una infancia feliz, mis abuelos maternos se convirtieron en mis padres, y les agradezco mucho todo su esfuerzo y sacrificio para lograr que fuéramos felices y nos convirtiéramos en personas de bien.

About 15 days ago I had the opportunity to return to my childhood home, where I grew up with my siblings and although I went through difficult times, such as the death of my mother, I remember that I had a happy childhood, my maternal grandparents became my parents, and I am very grateful for all their effort and sacrifice to make us happy and become good people.

Al llegar a casa de mis abuelos me recibieron con una deliciosa torta de vainilla decorada muy bonita y una pancarta dibujada por mi hermana luz quien vive con mis abuelos y mi hermana maye que vive cerca, me hicieron sentir muy especial.

When I arrived at my grandparents' house I was greeted with a beautifully decorated vanilla cake and a banner drawn by my sister Luz who lives with my grandparents and my sister Maye who lives nearby, they made me feel very special.

Al otro día me prepararon una rica sopa de pescado hecha en leña, estaba realmente deliciosa, subí al fondo de mi casa a respirar aire puro y observar la linda vista desde allí, luego mi abuelo me llevo conocer muy orgulloso su pequeño huerto.

The next day they prepared me a delicious fish soup made in firewood, it was really delicious, I went up to the back of my house to breathe fresh air and observe the beautiful view from there, then my grandfather took me to know very proudly his small orchard.

Nosotros somos cuatro hermanos, como les comente antes mis hermanas vive una con mis abuelos,y la otra cerca de casa de los abuelos, mi hermano el menor vive en Anaco Estado Anzoátegui y yo en caracas y teníamos mucho años que no habíamos coincidido estar juntos los cuatro, así que le insistimos mucho a mi hermano para que también fuera a casa de la abuela y darle esa alegría ya que ella sufre de depresión desde hace unos 3 años.

We are four siblings, as I told you before my sisters live one with my grandparents, and the other one near my grandparents' house, my youngest brother lives in Anaco, Anzoátegui State and I live in Caracas and we had not been together for many years, so we insisted a lot to my brother to go to my grandmother's house and give her that joy since she suffers from depression since 3 years ago.

Así que mi hermano también llego a casa de mis abuelos, y para mí fue como un viaje en el tiempo fuimos a la playa favorita, de nuestra niñez, que tiene por nombre la iguana ya que el cerro que la divide de las otras playas parece tener la forma de una iguana.

So my brother also arrived at my grandparents' house, and for me it was like a trip back in time, we went to our favorite beach, from our childhood, which has the name of the iguana because the hill that divides it from the other beaches seems to have the shape of an iguana.

Al llegar allí recordamos nuestros días juntos, cuando el abuelo nos traía a esta playa en especial ya que es de pocas olas y parece una piscina, y así él no tenía tanto miedo de que nos pasara algo malo. Recordamos nuestros juegos, anécdotas y chistes, reímos mucho. Para mí fue como retroceder el tiempo o realizar un viaje a mi infancia y sacar ese niño interior que todos tenemos, que es juguetón que ríe por todo y se divierte con cualquier cosa.

When we got there we remembered our days together, when grandpa used to bring us to this special beach because it has few waves and looks like a swimming pool, so he wasn't so afraid that something bad would happen to us. We remembered our games, anecdotes and jokes, we laughed a lot. For me it was like going back in time or taking a trip to my childhood and bringing out that inner child that we all have, who is playful, laughs at everything and has fun with anything.

Aprovechamos la oportunidad de tomarnos fotos todos juntos. y ver como todos hemos crecido, todos con pensamientos distintos pero ver que seguimos con el mismo amor de hermanos, fue maravilloso para mí.

We took the opportunity to take pictures all together and to see how we have all grown up, all with different thoughts but to see that we still have the same brotherly love, was wonderful for me.

Mi abuela y abuelo nos manifestaron su orgullo y satisfacción por lo que hemos logrado, a pesar de crecer con tan pocos recursos, y nosotros a ellos nuestro agradecimiento, por todo lo que hicieron por nosotros.

My grandmother and grandfather expressed their pride and satisfaction for what we have achieved, despite growing up with so few resources, and we expressed our gratitude to them for everything they did for us.

Al finalizar mi estadía nos despedimos pero no fue una despedida triste sino alegre de saber que en un pequeño sector de Rio Caribe, tenemos un lugar a donde siempre podemos regresar y reencontrarnos.

At the end of my stay we said goodbye, but it was not a sad farewell but a happy one, knowing that in a small sector of Rio Caribe, we have a place where we can always return and meet again.

Como mamá volví a casa con ganas de que ellos tengan eso que yo tuve y que tengo, una bonita relación de hermanos, de esa que aunque la distancia, las diferentes formas de pensamiento no nos quite el amor y el respeto que sentimos el uno por el otro.
As a mother, I returned home with the desire for them to have what I had and have, a beautiful sibling relationship, one that even though the distance, the different ways of thinking does not take away the love and respect we feel for each other.
