Esta semana viajé tres veces a trabajar la playa, el punto de encuentro fue Los Ángeles A en el estado La Guaira de Venezuela, donde solemos ir a pasar un día diferente con los viajeros de turno en nuestro full day.

This week I traveled three times for work on the beach, the meeting point was Los Angeles A in the state of La Guaira in Venezuela, where we usually go to spend a different day with the travelers on duty in our full day.

Durante esos viajes, cuando puedo, me escapo a tomar fotos de la naturaleza. En uno de esos días de mis visitas ocurrió algo muy inusual para nuestra locación. Al final de la tarde, unos minutos antes de que la hora de retorno, muchas aves se posaron en la orilla de la playa, muy cerca de la gente.

During those trips, when I can, I escape to take pictures of nature. On one of those days of my visits something very unusual happened for our location. In the late afternoon, a few minutes before the return time, many birds landed on the shore of the beach, very close to the people.

Yo aproveche y cambié de lente y puse el objetivo 55-300mm para acercarme lo más posible. Los plumíferos estaban inquietos, estaban luchando por comida, por la que los turistas le arrojaban a la arena.

I changed lenses and set up the 55-300mm lens to get as close as possible. The feathered birds were restless, they were fighting for food, for what the tourists were throwing on the sand.

El instinto de supervivencia se prendió para las aves, mientras que yo encendí mi instinto de fotógrafo para tomar estas fotos que les muestro.

Survival instinct kicked in for the birds, while I turned on my photographer's instinct to take these photos that I show you.

Fue un día con un sol intermitente. Las nubes y algo de ligera lluvia se hicieron presente en el horizonte, el mar tenía una marea fuerte y el gua estaba fría. Normalmente esa playa es muy cristalina, sin olas y cálida, pero los lugareños me dicen que durante diciembre presenta características contrarias a las usuales.

It was a day with intermittent sunshine. Clouds and some light rain were present on the horizon, the sea had a strong tide and the water was cold. Normally that beach is very crystalline, without waves and warm, but the residents tell me that during December it presents characteristics contrary to the usual.

Supongo que debido a estos cambios, las aves también aprovecharon para acercarse inusualmente y dejarse fotografiar. Para mí fue un honor haber presenciado aquel acto de la naturaleza.

I guess that due to these changes, the birds also took the opportunity to get unusually close and let themselves be photographed. For me it was an honor to have witnessed that act of nature.

Son ese tipo de sucesos los que terminan de alegrarme el día y me dan otro tipo de conexión con el nuestro planeta. También me siento mejor como fotógrafo porque puedo agregar escenas diferentes a la memoria de mi laptop y también a la de mis recuerdos.

It is these kinds of events that make my day and give me a different type of connection with our planet. I also feel better as a photographer because I can add different scenes to my laptop memory and also to my memories.
