Rune Dice, is this finally the ultimate dice game?

Hey, Hive friends! I was a little lost last week, but that’s because I was trying to figure out what to talk to you about. I found something really interesting—and it has to do with dice again.
I previously complained about Dicero! because of its microtransactions, but it seems fate had another game in store for me that could easily replace it—even though the gameplay is very different and it adds plenty of elements that really spice things up, easily keeping you hooked for about 5 or 6 hours.
This is a roguelike—the kind where you try playthroughs over and over until you understand the dynamics of the elements that are revealed to you, allowing you to eventually exploit the game with absurd combinations. But here, we add dice, which determine the damage based on the physics of where you roll them and the total you get from them—a pretty interesting concept.

As is the case with most games like this, there isn't really a story to speak of. You choose a character—each has their own class—select a map that features its own boss to defeat, and dive into the adventure.
The magic happens when you enter combat by selecting the enemy symbol on the map; a board full of dice will appear, and you’ll be given a separate die that you’ll have to roll to link combos.
Usually, your die will show a ‘1’, so you’ll have to find another die on the board with the same number to combine it and form a ‘2’; that die will automatically seek out the nearest ‘2’ to merge again and become a ‘3’, and so on. If the die it needs to merge with is too far away or doesn’t exist, the combo in question will be shortened. The damage you deal to enemies will be based on the sum of all the dice you have collected.

There are other symbols on the map that lead to other “events.” For example, there's the shop where we can use the gold we earn in battle to buy more dice with various abilities, or runes that grant beneficial effects when activated. There’s the jester symbol, where you’ll need to pull off your best combo to earn a good number of upgrades. There’s also the forge, where you can upgrade your dice based on a probability I’m not entirely sure how it works—if it succeeds, the dice will be significantly upgraded, but if it fails, its level will decrease.
Then there’s the mini-boss symbol, which, as the name suggests, pits you against enemies stronger than the standard ones so you can earn more gold for upgrades. At the end of the map, there’s always the boss, and that’s pretty much it.
To unlock the characters and their different classes, you’ll need to complete certain objectives, which means playing over and over again without stopping.
What do you think of this game’s concept? I find it quite addictive and satisfying, but it’s not something that’s going to revolutionize the video game industry.

Thanks for reading my post and see you next time <3
