Pursat Tour - Waterfalls & Forest Along an Eels Road 🌳 🚌

Greetings everyone from Cambodia! A new trip of August 2022 with waterfalls and forest tour to Veal Veng district in Pursat Province. It's a 2 days & 1 night trip with package price $50 with my mom included bus, foods and tickets. We were lucky that we didn’t have to pay for hotel because my aunt and her family provided a special place for us to stay.

We started this trip early in the morning at 4:00 am. We went early for we want to avoid traffic jam and crowds. Well, Pursat is the capital of Pursat Province, Cambodia. It’s 189 from Phnom Penh along national road 5 that crosses one province call Kampong Chhnang to reach it.

Snam Preah Commune - Oknha Klaeng Meung Shrine

A sacred place for many Cambodians who will stop by here to pray and relax in the beautiful grounds which feature several shrines, sculptures, water features.

Klaeng Meung is revered as a military hero who has sacrificed his own life to enter the afterworld and raise an army of ghosts to fight the invading army. Now, he is known as the region’s most powerful spirit.

Besides Oknha Klaeng Meung statue, visitors can also see a great status of traditional dance performance. Personally, this dance style is really different from Cambodia which I do not know what it is called.

Andong Ang Road

This place is where I can see all the natural beauty of 1500 mountain. I am not sure why people call it “1500 mountains”. I try to ask local people who live there, but I didn’t find one.

Mountains are where I feel most in tune with nature especially when I started to see the forest surrounding and the road that seems to be like an eels.

Andong Ang can translate to English as “eels”. The only reason why people call this road as Andong Ang is that it is shape like an eels walking on land.

Actually, eels road is just becoming a famous tourist place lately. People usually go there because we all believe that the new upgrade road is safe. Eel road is one of the most important places for Pursat. The people of the province including provincial authorities always use the road for delivering goods services.

Waterfall

The waterfall on this mountain is called Thmor Da. It was Sunday when I visited Thmor Da. Even though it was a holiday, not many people visit there. The water is cold. Some area has a very clear water while some are not. Our purpose to visit Thmor Da for we wanted to have a lunch here so it is okey for us. I have a delicious lunch with my mom and her friends.

Visiting my aunt house 🏡

There is a waterfall behind my aunt house. I took this picture in the morning after I got up. The weather is cold, but it is okay because the landscape and environment are beautiful. I am so glad, my mom and I received a very warm welcome and we got a delicious dinner together too.

It is the most enjoyable trip. I come to visit my aunt and her family for the first time after she moved to this house. We have a wonderful talking to each about stuff like health, Hive and childhood things.

Hanging planters 🌱 - natural and simple

This is my favorite area of the house. Because I could see my aunt’s flowers. Many plants and flowers are decorated by my aunts.

She really good at recycling. All the flowers are beautiful, and I felt fresh when I saw it. We were happy while talking to each other.

She had told me and my mom something about her flowers like how she got it and how she grew it. The purple one is my favorite flower, it is so beautiful.

Decorate the flowers like this is a great way to add greenery without taking up too much space and this outdoor hanging planters is very interesting to make with available things at home. I think we can also use it as home decor or home garden too.
