See what I arrived at
Greetings everyone, few days ago I talked about me starting my baking class and I showed you guys what I did and how I came about doing that successfully. I went further by telling you guys the story behind how I started my baking class and everything.
It hasn't been an easy one since I started but I have determined to stay focus and continue with it. So yesterday after the class, I did this little practical while my co-worker watched it alongside with my madam.
This is called a dummy, it's like a cock we know and use to see, it served and look like a real cake. It was given to me by my madam to use and level a cake and trim it well to look nice thereafter piping it.
First of, I mixed my butter 250grams and icing sugar 1kg. The mixer we normally use developed some fault so I used the manual method which is using a stick to turn the butter and Icing sugar till it became whitish and fluffy to use.
I touched the board with the mixture of butter and Icing sugar to help Jel the dummy to the pan without falling. I used a piping bag, put it in the mixture I did and piped the whole body of the dummy.
I did and l used the piping comb to trim and level the dummy to be neat and nice. I came out with this and so I went further to piping the bottom of the dummy and this is what I got.
I'm still learning and I'm enjoying the whole process trust me. I can't wait to be a fully registered baker and explore, I'm glad.

I adore cake decorating, but I am absolutely useless with buttercream, I can't get it smooth for want of trying. Also I drag bits of cake up into the frosting when I try to smooth it. I would definitely be interested in reading more tips and tricks or tutorial videos.

It can frustrating doing that as it usually takes hours to have a perfect smoothness. I hope to learn from you as you will learn from me as well.
