In continuation of the explanation on the doctrine of in the church, Bro Eli Soriano taught us several things that will make our prayers effective. Among the issues raised were that of discipline during prayers. Using the example of the Members Church Of God who pray kneeling down and facing the east, we were encourage to practice discipline in our prayers.

Discipline will enable us to maintain order during prayers. It is not good that while praying we should be distracted. Being focus will make us concentrate in our prayers. Kneeling down is a discipline measure that was adopted by the early apostles and the early church. So, following that is just that we are going in the footsteps of are predecessors.

1 Peter 4:8 (KJV) And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

Bro Eli also taught us to practice love among ourselves so that our prayers will be answered. He explained that the Bible says we should forgive and pray for those who offend us. Also, when we want to make confessions, the Bible did not say we should confess to men or priest. We are to make our confessions to God and the person we offend.

We were also reminded not to practice vain repetitions in our prayers. When praying, we should understand that God has promised that He will answer us even while we are yet speaking. The prayers of the righteous, the Bible says, is God's delight.

Coupled are to forgive each other so that their prayers will not be hindered. If one has a spouse who is evil, we should rather pray that God should forgive and change that partner.
