Today's topic is a continuation of an amazing series which is "Improving Your Networking Skills As A Businessman" which started on Vol 32. I will be talking about one superb tip which will help you improve your networking skills and it is;

• Strategy: If you want to improve your networking skills as a businessman, you need to strategize on who are going to be your potential networks and how to meet them. You need to be intentional with your networks. You need to think of the kind of people who you think will be of benefit to you currently or in future in your career. Let's say, you are an accountant, your potential networks need to be an accountant or auditor or related to an accounting firm or business. You can still meet anyone in any other field as they may be of value to you in the future, for example, doctors, developers, lawyers and so on. Now, how can you meet your potential networks, if you leave it to chance, you might not get any networks and that's why I said you need to be intentional. For example, if you want to meet great minds in the accounting space, you need to research when and where any accounting event, seminar or occasion may be happening and attend. You can now meet a lot of fellow accountants with like minds and become friends with them. By so doing you are improving your networking skills as a businessman and you will always be updated with the latest happenings in the accounting space because of your networks and they may link you up to a better-paying accounting job. This isn't only restricted to accounting, it is cut across all fields of work, be it Software Engineering, Medicine, Music, and so on. You should be going out to seminars and events related to that field of work and meeting new people and making them your networks. You will grow faster in your field of work by doing so.
