How Momentum Can Affect Your Success Journey

Good morning everyone, hope you all are doing great? Momentum goes a huge way in affecting our success journey both positively and negatively. This article was written based on my personal experience, researched studies and understanding of how momentum could affect our success journey. Do well to find somewhere quite comfortable and quiet to read through this amazing article I made just for you guys.

I have been going through a rough path for about 6 to 7 months. I couldn't get myself to work adequately. I researched on how to be productive, when is the right time to wake up, how to utilize your mornings, the 5am rule and almost everything that regards to improving my productivity, in order for me to get myself out of the dark place in my mind.

For this 6 to 7 months, I would rather do anything else that isn't productive than do a productive task. The crypto crash also affected me, as I see my portfolio going down down, I literally didn't want to do anything again. To make matters worse, my country's(Nigeria) economy keep crashing, which will result to inflation of things. Can you imagine buying a bread for like $1 dollars a year ago, and you are buying that same bread for $3 currently, that's 3 times(300%) increment. Value of our currency(Naira) is getting bad everyday.

Everyday I will be thinking and thinking but never making steps to improve my current situation. But why? I think I dream too big, hence, I see that my little efforts won't make the huge change I want, so rather than doing it, I do nothing. Many of us are going through this same thing. We forget that little droplets of water would make small pod, then lake and then an ocean. We didn't start walking immediately after birth when we were babies. We made small steps for months, then we started walking and then we could start running.

You can become more productive if you understand the power of momentum. The power of momentum, is you doing a particular thing that pushes you closer to what you want to achieve everyday without missing a day. All those research I made on how to improve my productivity, were all good but I didn't add the power of momentum. For instance, I applied the 5am rule but I didn't achieve the level of productivity I wanted. I woke up 5am for like 3 days, and didn't anymore. How do I expect the 5am rule to work? It can't because I lost the momentum. Imagine, a car that requires pushing for it to start. You put in the effort, and start pushing but before the car could kick start, you stopped pushing because you believe you have already put in enough efforts. That car won't start because you lost the momentum. Same thing with exercise, you hit the gym for 3 weeks, but stopped, how do you expect to achieve your desired body shape when you have lost your momentum.

I looked at the people doing well on this amazing Hive platform, they are people putting in the effort everyday. They show up everyday and don't miss a day. But when they miss a day, two days, a week, it becomes difficult for them to get back to their high level because they lost their momentum. It is always very important you keep your momentum up and keep doing whatever you are into everyday, so you don't lose your momentum, hence, your desire to do it. Keep at it, and with time, you would be rewarded greatly for your effort.

I have started applying the power of momentum to my life, and I can already see some great results and my level of productivity have started improving. If you want to achieve success in your career or business, you need to understand the power of momentum. Always do something in your career or business everyday, no matter how little it is because that will keep the momentum. I have learned from this and I doubt I would repeat the same mistake again.

Cold showers might help get you moving in the morning. It shocks the body and helps create slightly higher test levels which can help get us moving. Start with normal shower turn to cold water at the end.
