From Mid-Tier to Legend: How I Overcame My Fear of Competitive Matches in COD Mobile. [Eng/Esp]

Hey, little ones. A few weeks ago, I downloaded Call of Duty on my phone. About two years ago, this was a game I didn’t really understand, but it wasn’t too hard for me because I’d been playing Free Fire before downloading this one. However, I remember hoping at the time that it would look similar to the Nintendo version, but clearly it didn’t, haha.

However, discovering so many different game modes in Call of Duty made me stick with it. As I played, I learned a lot about how everything worked, and even though I wasn’t that bad, I was always afraid to play ranked matches because I knew that the higher my rank, the harder each match would be, so I always stayed around the mid-tier.

Hola, pequeñas personitas. Hace unas semanas atrás descargué Call Of Duty en mi teléfono. Hace unos 2 años atrás este era un juego en el que no entendía mucho, pero que no se me hizo complicado, porque yo venia de jugar Free Fire antes de descargar este. Sin embargo, recuerdo que en su momento esperé que se viera similar a su versión de Nintendo, pero claramente no jsjaja.

Sin embargo, al encontrarme con tantas modalidades de juego en Call Of Duty, me hizo quedarme. Y mientras fui jugando estuve aprendiendo bastante sobre como funcionaba todo, y aunque no era tan mala, siempre me dio miedo jugar las partidas para subir de rango, porque sabia que entre más arriba estuviera, más difícil sería cada partida, así que siempre me quede como en un rango medio.

And that’s how it’s been until now. I realized that if I reached the highest rank, I could unlock rewards from past seasons, like new characters. So, for the first time, about three days ago, I reached the “Legendary” rank in multiplayer mode. And honestly, I have my good days and my bad days.

Y eso fue así hasta ahora. Me di cuenta que si alcanzaba el rango más alto, podría desbloquear recompensas de temporadas pasadas, como nuevos personajes. Así que, por primera vez, hace unos 3 días llegue al rango “De leyenda” en el modo multijugador. Y la verdad es que, tengo mis días buenos y malos.

A campaign started, and on the very first day, I was in that tier. It keeps track of all the times I’ve won and lost, because it turns out that the top players in my region will receive a prize.

Empezó una campaña, y justo el día que inicio, me encontraba en ese rango, y lleva un contador de todas las veces que he ganado y las veces que he perdido, porque resulta que los mejores de la región en la que estoy, recibirán un premio.

But I like the fact that I reached that rank—one I never thought I’d reach because the matches would be so tough—precisely because I was motivated to earn in-game rewards. And honestly, it hasn’t gone too badly; in fact, I’ve made quite a few good friends this season.

Pero, me gusta el hecho de que ese rango que nunca llegue a alcanzar porque tendría partidas difíciles lo haya alcanzado justo porque tuve la motivación de conseguir recompensas dentro del juego, y la verdad, es que tan mal no me ha ido, en realidad, he hecho conocidos bastantes buenos en esta temporada.

Well, that’s a little glimpse into my history with Call of Duty and a bit about my progress in the game after avoiding it for so many years.
