This is my first participation in this contest, and I have to confess that really if I could be a bird I would be an eagle, but unfortunately, I have no pictures of eagles, I haven't seen them around here where I live.

But on the other hand, if I have to choose between the birds here, then I would like to be a sparrowhawk.

Why a sparrowhawk? Well, first because they are the second most attractive and admired birds to me, and also because they are the kings of the skies in this city. To be at the top of the food pyramid and to have so much freedom to fly wherever I want and without fear of being prey to anyone, I think that's what any bird would want to be. They are also beautiful birds, although these photos do not honor their beauty as I took them from a very long distance.

Here this hawk was perched on one of the antennas of the building, while on another antenna in front were some small yellow birds.

Esta es mi primera participación en este concurso, y tengo que confesar que realmente si yo pudiera ser un ave sería un águila, pero lamentablemente no tengo fotos de águilas, no las he visto por aquí donde vivo.

Pero por otro lado si tengo que escoger entre las aves que hay aquí, entonces me gustaría ser un gavilán.

¿Porqué un gavilán? Bueno, primero porque son las segundas aves que mas me atraen y que más admiro, y también porque son los reyes de los cielos en esta ciudad. Estar en la cúspide de la pirámide alimenticia y tener tanta libertad para volar a donde quiera y sin temor de ser presa de nadie, creo que eso es lo que cualquier ave desearía ser. Además son unas aves bellas, aunque estas fotos no hacen honor a su belleza pues las tomé desde una distancia bien larga.

Aqui este gavilán estaba posado en una de las antenas del edificio, mientras que en otra antena al frente, estaban unas pequeñas aves amarillas.

Although hawks have no predators in these lands, they do have some small enemies, which, although very small, when united, manage to annoy any hawk so much that they make them retreat or go elsewhere. Some sparrowhawks just stare at them, and impose their size to intimidate them.

Si bien los gavilanes no tienen depredadores en estas tierras, sí tienen unos pequeños enemigos, que aunque sean muy pequeños cuando se unen logran fastidiar tanto a cualquier gavilán que los hace retroceder o irse a otro lugar. Algunos gavilanes solo se quedan observándolos, e imponen su tamaño para intimidarlos.
