Harvesting Bamboo For The Internet Pole: Difficult And Risky

Hello, everyone!
As I mentioned before, we were cut off from the internet.
That means our online jobs were put on hold suddenly.
Days have already passed, but there has been no sign of the internet being restored.
After the Philippine National Railways (PNR) police had cut the lines, we reached out to a new internet provider that promised quick installation.
Yet for them to proceed, they said we would need to install an internet pole to carry the necessary wires.
My hubby suggested using bamboo for the internet pole instead of a steel tube, to avoid hefty expenses.
And so last Wednesday, we gathered bamboo.
My hubby woke up early.
He chose several sturdy stalks, the right height and thick enough to support the cables.

As I woke up, he was already done with these four.
He told me how the bamboo's sharp thorns managed to poke through his thick slippers.

When I joined him for the last bamboo he would harvest, I finally understood what he meant.
Before you could even touch a bamboo stalk, you had to face the wall of thorny vines guarding it.

They were sharp sticking out in different directions, forming a tangled, spiky barrier.
It's difficult and risky to harvest bamboo here because the thorns are everywhere.
But as I follow hubby, I watch him push aside branches and avoid the spikes.

Despite the danger, he moved as if he had already memorized that mini forest.
Handling the bolo with confidence, slicing through vines, and pulling the bamboo bit by bit.

It's just when he's actually done, a couple of weaver ants crawl up and bite him.
He suddenly froze, yelping, "Araykupooo!" 😅
And complaining as if the ants would understand. 😆
Soon, the last bamboo was carried home.

And here he is, posing as if he's ready for more bamboo challenges. Lol.

Until our next harvest...
Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸
