Portrait Drawing Of A Friend @starstrings01

It's been a long time I drew someone from this platform. I think the last person I drew was @wolfofnostreet. So this week, I came across @starstrings01 post and saw one of his photos which I found interesting to draw.

I told him my intention and he didn't hesitate but said he would appreciate it. You know what it means by seeing your photo being portrayed in blue ink? Hehe!

Initially, when I made my outline sketch, I was wondering if it would actually look like him. I paused and made a few adjustments. Yet, I felt there was little or no improvement.

I wanted to start afresh but summoned courage and continued to see how it would go. Some drawings are always like that - their outline sketches might not give you instant resemblance. So I proceeded in adding shades to see how everything will turn out.

After working on his beards and eyes, I was no longer skeptical cause I felt some resemblance manifesting.

The last stage was done with utmost happiness and fun filled because the resemblance has appeared. I then made a few finishing touches.

The drawing was done with a blue ballpoint pen on a cardboard paper and I used a combination of cross hatching and scribble style to create this piece.
