Finished Work - Pen Portrait Drawing

avatar

Behind my daily sketches on my sketchbook, there are bigger works going on. Out of curiosity, a friend of mine @promiseart said something which prompted me to share this.

I never wanted to rush sharing this work, but I had to in order to show I have other works I have been working on (to perfect my skills) outside my daily drawing practice on my sketchbook.

Today, I want to share with you one of my completed pieces which was done on February. This Corona Virus issue halted my plans.

The work is one of my "Vision2020" I planned to do and present to this honourable member, Tsebson Sunday.

After one month of intensive drawing, the work is ready to be framed and later on delivered to the rightful owner.

It took me approximately 153 hours to complete this work within the space 1 month 3 days. Even I thought I'm done working on some areas, I do go back to make some touches on them if I dicover where I didn't worked on properly.

I planned to present this work to him without him being aware that I have made this for him. More like a surprise. Huh?

How would he feel?

I hope he receives this with open arms and a joyful heart.

I don't want to write a lengthy episode about this and I am not a fan of long story telling/writing but I believe the time and energy I invested in doing this work have covered it and it worth it.

I still believe I can be better with pen portrait drawing - focus more on hyperrealistic works - Anything is possible. I know I have a long way to go, but I'm happy because of how far I have gone.

It's all about:

TIME
DEDICATION
DETERMINATION
PERSEVERANCE
PATIENCE
BELIEVE

And more so... HUGE SUPPORT FROM HERE.

Thank you all.

Below are my step-by-step processes

Step 1
I first made an outline sketch with 0.7 mechanical pencil

Wow, Fantastic work man. I am also drawing some untamed monsters from the splinterlands. I am not so good but I am trying. I am surprised that you used pen to draw the portrait. Is this a ball pen? @maxwellmarcusart

It's good that you are trying. The more keep trying, the better you become. Honestly, I haven't tried drawing any monsters from splinterlands but I see people do. Looks like they get rewarded for it🤔.

Yes, it is a ballpen. If you check my steps, you will see two of my works I snapped along with the pen.
Thanks for your comment.
