Centipede (Genus Scolopendra)

Latin NameObservation dateLocation
Genus ScolopendraJuly 28, 2026Central Aceh Regency,Aceh, Indonesia

When I was in a palm oil plantation, suddenly a centipede climbed up my pants, of course it immediately made me panic and I immediately reflexively hit it. From its appearance alone we can see that this is a very scary animal, it has a long shape and has quite a lot of legs, this animal is very venomous and its bite can cause pain and swelling, especially the centipede that I found has a relatively large size. I feel very sorry for hitting this centipede, but this is an unintentional action, I was just trying to avoid something I don't want. If seen from its appearance, the upper body of this centipede is dark brown to black segmented, with reddish or bright orange legs and antennae, of course this is a female and a unique color but looks so scary on the body of this centipede.

At that time I also tried to take some pictures of this centipede, and now I will share them here.
