The planting of the crops must always follow with the level of the weeding pattern which will always summarize whether the crop will be productive or not. That is the first strategy you must have as a farmer. The strategize plan must be there so that the production must also comes in between. When the cultivation of this maize was done, it was fear of unknown. This unknown are simply the predators. There are so many predators where I farm. How I wish I can absolutely video this animals. But they are absolutely more faster while walking.

Maize 🌽🌽 is a crop that also deals with attraction of more predators. Even when you do not have predators around you before, in as much as you have cultivated crossed like Maize, cowpeas, millet, guniea corn, groundnut and some other crops. They will always find their way through and eat up your cultivated crops within few weeks. Now that what am facing at the moment.

So, first of all, what I did was to partially eradicate the weeds from all corners of the farm. That's the strategy at the moment.

The maize are more than 4 weeks at the moment, so I needed to put a lot of efforts in ensuring that there are no weed around the farm at all. That was what really happened here in the pictures.

The Maize 🌽🌽 spacing were also much more enough for a little bit of intercropping or mixed cropping system. But as we have recorded some few days ago, there was no rainfall. So there was no need to introduce another type of crop into it ever since I noticed this. Or else all the efforts will be at loss.

The weed also are a good recommendation for animals such as rabbits and grass cutter. When you have what is called grasscutter Farm you can always give them this type of grasses. It will go a very long way to ensure good feeding routine and habit.

But partially in between some of them I introduced pineapple crown at shown in the picture. This is also a safe crop to plant in between Maize 🌽🌽. But you need to calculate very well so that it will not disturb other crops in growth and in production.

This is the pineapple crown. When you have more of the pineapple crown it can be introduced. What I planted was much close to 10 pineapple crown. But only few survived. Maybe due to the soil structure. Pineapple does not required a lot of water to grow and survive.

There are still more weed to battle with as it is shown in the pictures and to release more nutrients to the cultivated crop. There should be more space for nutrients to circulate round the cultivated crop. This will ensure good production and great environmental hygiene to the farm.

To be a farmer you need a lot of strategy and this may also work for you or not. So it depends on how active you are on your farm as well as how nutrients filled your soil is. So this combinations go in line with each other to give you a good farm production at the end of the farming season.

If you are planning to have a Maize Farm it must be planned thoroughly so that in one way or the other you will not have any course to blame you actions. There are some crops that needs a lot of good attentions no matter how big or small your farm is. Please noted this. Although virtually all crops need to be attended to.

Farming is not for the lazy. When others are busy enjoying their weekend or weekdays, you will be on the farm doing a lot of activities that cannot be explained. So for me I spend a lot of time on the farm even with the animals. Likewise I carry along my kids. Because they have a very good and fast initiative as a young farmer.
