Hello Hivers 💕💘,

This was how they grasscutter cage began and I also showed us the step-by-step methods which I took as a farmer to progress from one state to another without leaving a process. It's not too easy because I needed to snap with different camera phones as well as joining them together to make an article post. Light we all know that this grasscutter needs a very strong cage which will make them to stay in the cage for a very long period Of time as well as making sure that it is extremely firm. I made a lot of researches likewise I also joined a lot of WhatsApp groups which I made much more inquiries before getting into the market to make my own grasscutter cage. It is an animal that when it is worth it produces an also make a production twice in a year if it is well managed. So I went to the market with a professional Carpenter and this was what we got in the Wood market. Which is also known as sawmill,in Ile Ife osun state Nigeria.

THE WOOD MARKET🪵🪵.

  • This wood market is also along the major road and as such, it also took is a while before we got there. We got there very early and we waited for them too open the doors officially. With the carpenter experience and some wood sellers, I quickly opened up to them what purpose the planks are really meant for. So they told me to buy some particular set of wood planks before we finally selected them one after the other. We are also told to make sure that they are straight. No bending forsoever. So that it will be very easier for the carpenter to work on even while it is been smoothing or shaped into required measurements.

Here we also have the Carpenter wearing the blue native wear helping us to select a very good straight wood plank that will go undergo smoothing and the final cutting into shapes requirement.

  • They saw me is a very big one such that even when we were transporting it we needed to higher a vehicle so that it will help us to carry it from one location to another. This is why you need a professional hand in handling and building a grasscutter cage. Not just grasscutter cage but any kind of work you want to do you need a professional guidance.

There is always need for a proof and that is why I always come with a lot of pictures to show that this is a very good and a original content right from the source.

THE CUTTING OF THE WOOD PLANKS INTO MEASUREMENTS.

  • This is highly necessary because to have a very good professional cage which will last for more than 2 years at a stretch without repairing anything again. You need a very good wood and other tools to enable it build a very strong cage.

This was when the measurement was been asked for and cut accordingly. We did 1×3 measurements also 2x2 measurement.

The young woman you saw, was the one putting us through the sawmill machine site. They have is specific location whereby, the people buying the planks we go there too smoothing the plants and cut it to their own requirement sizes.

WORK STARTED.

  • This was when we got to the farm and yes work started immediately. The making of the cage needed to be constructed by a professional although I will also practice this myself with another type of measurement and some other tools. What I did was to take more patience to stay with the carpenter and her daughter making up the cage themselves. And that was how it started.

IMG_20260505_102513_093.jpg

IMG_20260505_102510_253.jpg

The first thing they did was too made the frame with the required measurement as given to them, as you can see it laid on the floor. I also stood with them while watching carefully.

IMG_20260505_121508_811.jpg

The way a professional Carpenter will handle it will be different from how I'm going to handle it although with a lot of drawings and pictures have already taken in some farms I visited in ilesa, State in Nigeria. I needed more professional hands. The frame it was done within few hours.

  • This was when the frame was already done and the next step was to add the galvanized net. This also was laid according to the measure or the floor basement of the grasscutter cage action below and above.

IMG_20260505_141414_760.jpg

The galvanized net was been cut and it give a very good shape at once. Although it's later give us a little bit of problem because it was shipped into a particular form before. So to stretch it and cut it was a little bit challenging, more also its extremely Sharp.

You can see in the picture of that we are both working together. I also use my aunt to support them while they grasscutter cage was going on most especially during the net fixing. The net fixing is very challenging, I must confess because while cutting it will had a lot of injuries.

IMG_20260505_143844_629.jpg

While we use the smaller net which is the one by half inches for the sides. This is very moderate and great for grasscutter because it will not be extremely to beak for them to see even while running around the cage. Although we also have people or farmers who were the gas cutter in a concrete cage. Or metal cage.

  • This is also while the measurement of the networks called accordingly with this industrial scissors. This was also part of the tools I bought while making it up for the preparation.

IMG_20260505_150050_366.jpg

The effort was positive as the grasscutter cage progresses. We started in the morning and ended up late in the evening. This was because we needed a very good and accurate measurements and a very good grasscutter cage standard.

IMG_20260505_173633_276.jpg

This was when they grasscutter wooden cage was finally done and it is still left with some little corrections. Which I will do myself. So this is how the grasscutter cage looks like officially. We added the door inches and the door lock as well to it.
