Childhood Memories: Cooking went wrong

Hello everyone, hope you're all doing great?
We all have stories from our children that will make us laugh anytime we remember. Some childhood memories can never be forgotten, I see them as the best part of our lives because we use to live our life without stress, sometimes I'll feel like going back to my childhood days, but it's not possible, hehehehehe. Adulthood has more things in store for us. we can recall some of our childhood memories and we can't even remember some clearly. I'm gonna share one of my funny childhood memories.

when I was a child do things I was not asked to do, I believe I'm capable of doing anything but in the end, I will end up doing crazy things, the worse part is having my younger siblings partake in my punishments.

Cooking went wrong

My first cooking experience went wrong, though nobody sent me to make any to cook, but my busy body made tempted me to 😂, I was just 8 years then.

My mum left home one Saturday morning and instructed me and my younger sibling to do our assignment after taking our meal. of course we obeyed her, we finished everything she instructed us to do. instead of me going to rest, I added another extra task to the list that finally landed me into trouble.

I was just doing that for my mother to praise me when she comes back but instead, I was disparaged...
I thought about making dinner before she comes back from work. I've not done it before but I use to stay close to her whenever she was cooking, and I assume I can do it. I put my thoughts into action. I want to make egusi soup(melon seed soup), because I know that's what she planned to cook that day. I lit the cooker and place the pot on it, then I went ahead to slice the onions. Immediately I poured oil on the fire, the pot caught fire and it's because I've placed it on the fire for a long time, when the pot catch fire, I was startled, immediately I poured water into the pot to quench the fire. Thank God my face did not get burnt the day. 😂😂

Yet I did not stop, I poured the onion inside the water like that, and I poured the egunsi with other ingredients. I know if you know how to prepare egusi soup, you'll be laughing by now, cuz you know it's rubbish that I cooked ... hehehehe. I have to leave the soup to stay on fire for a very long time in other to make the excess water dry. Even after leaving it for a long time, the soup is still watery. I dropped it down from the fire and waited for my mother to come, I know I'm in trouble already 😂😂

Finally, she comes back

I'm supposed to welcome her with a hug immediately she came back, but I sat gently like a persecuted saint, waiting for her to go into the kitchen to open the pot. After a few moments, She went straight to the kitchen, and the next thing I heard is my name ., "Maaaarrrrrryyy", I already know why she was calling me, (trust me nahnn, African mothers don't take it easy, even though they did not beat you, they'll slam you with words ) " What's the rubbish inside this pot, did I sent you to cook when I left this house, you're, you'll be the only one to eat that soup" mind you, my siblings are not excluded in the punishment.. lol

When it was time for dinner, the food was dished On one plate, the first one I put into my mouth was very salty, I managed to eat that way, but my siblings were looking at me as if they want to devour me, become I was the one who made them to eat horrible meal , we ate the meal once and dispose the remaining one, but ever since then, I've learned to become better in my cooking.
