Compartir en familia es uno de mis mayores y más lindos delirios. Desde que tengo uso de razón, siempre hemos compartido unidos en muchos ámbitos de la vida. Uno de ellos es la comida. Comer en familia es una bendición que atesoro en mi memoria.
Cuando era una niña, salíamos con mi papá a comer y aquello era toda una fiesta para nosotros. Amaba salir con mi padre pues, era tan culto que, podía estar horas y horas escuchándolo hablar de todo y en esas ocasiones, de comida.
Antes de la pandemia, solíamos compartir mucho de forma mensual. Íbamos a casa de mi hermano Fernando, en una ciudad cercana a la nuestra y allí solíamos celebrar en reuniones tipo parrilladas, hamburguesadas y cualquier cosa que tuviera que ver con comida, los cumpleaños y otras festividades como la Navidad por ejemplo. Lo más lindo era la esencia de compartirlo juntos, una sensación inigualable. Luego llegó Covid-19 y todo fue diferente.
Las reuniones y los viajes quedaron suspendidos y nos tocó pasar un buen tiempo sin vernos, aun cuando la distancia física era relativamente pequeña. Extraño esos instantes que nutren el alma.
Como ya lo he contado en otras oportunidades, mi madre vive en una finca en el campo. A veces suelen venir a visitarnos a mi hijo y a mí. Recientemente, para la fecha de mi cumpleaños, en el mes de julio, mi madre y su esposo vinieron a visitarnos. Ese día, decidimos salir a compartir una comida en familia, a propósito de rememorar esos viejos tiempos que tanta falta nos hacen.
Sharing with my family is one of my greatest and most beautiful delusions. For as long as I can remember, we have always shared in many areas of life. One of them is food. Eating together as a family is a blessing that I treasure in my memory.
When I was a child, we would go out to eat with my dad and it was a feast for us. I loved going out with my father because he was so cultured that I could spend hours and hours listening to him talk about everything and on those occasions, about food.
Before the pandemic, we used to share a lot monthly. We used to go to my brother Fernando's house, in a city close to ours, and there we used to celebrate in barbecues, hamburgers, and anything that had to do with food, birthdays and other festivities such as Christmas for example. The most beautiful thing was the essence of sharing it, an incomparable feeling. Then came Covid-19 and everything was different.
Meetings and trips were suspended and we had to spend a long time without seeing each other, even though the physical distance was relatively small. I miss those moments that nourish the soul.
As I have told you on other occasions, my mother lives on a farm in the countryside. Sometimes they come to visit my son and me. Recently, for my birthday in July, my mother and her husband came to visit us. That day, we decided to go out for a family meal, to reminisce about those old times we miss so much.
Fuimos a un restaurante de comida rápida en la ciudad de Lecherías y allí degustamos unos deliciosos sandwiches extra especiales. El local se llama Tostados. Es un sitio de comida rápida, donde tienen varias recetas de los mismos que todos son una espectacularidad.
Comerse un sándwich en Tostados, es saborearse hasta el último pedacito de pan, pues la preparación de todos es tan estupenda, que uno queda siempre con ganas de comer más. Los sándwiches son bastante grandes y hay variedad, entre ellas el Ranchero (mi favorito de pollo empanizado con una serie de salsas que despiertan mi espíritu de gorda, como dirían por ahí).
También los hay de carne, cerdo, pero los de pollo empanizado en sus tres variedades (Ranchero, Crispy Bacon, Crispy normal) son mis consentidos. El lugar es bastante agradable y va muchísima gente. Tienen un local en la planta alta, bastante espacioso, donde puedes quedarte a comer los sándwiches allí o si gustas puedes pedirlos para llevar. Ese día, compartimos en familia allí mismo.
En la parte alta tienen un parquecito para los niños, así como en los locales de McDonald's y otros lugares de comida rápida. También venden brownies, galletitas de varios sabores y por supuesto, la infaltable gaseosa que acompaña este tipo de comidas que no deben ser hábito para comer a diario, sino para compartir ocasionalmente en familia.
Tienen ofertas que se llaman el Combo de la semana. Lo varían entre los distintos sándwiches para que sea distinto semanalmente. El combo de la semana es el sándwich con una ración de papas fritas bastante grande con la que inclusive pueden comer hasta dos personas. Me encanta la forma de las papitas como una espiral. La presentación y su sabor es delicioso.
We went to a fast-food restaurant in the city of Lecherías and there we tasted some delicious extra special sandwiches. The place is called Tostados. It is a fast food place, where they have several recipes that are all spectacular.
Eating a sandwich at Tostados is to savor every last bit of bread, because the preparation of all of them is so great, that you always want to eat more. The sandwiches are quite large and there is a variety, among them the Ranchero (my favorite, breaded chicken with a series of sauces that awaken my fat spirit, as they say).
There are also beef and pork ones, but the breaded chicken ones in their three varieties (Ranchero, Crispy Bacon, Crispy normal) are my favorites. The place is quite nice and very crowded. They have a spacious upstairs where you can stay and eat the sandwiches there or if you like you can order them to go. That day, we shared with the family right there.
Upstairs they have a playground for the kids, as well as McDonald's and other fast food places. They also sell brownies, cookies of various flavors, and of course, the inevitable soda that accompanies this type of food that should not be a habit to eat every day but to share occasionally with the family.
They have offers called the Combo of the week. They vary it among the different sandwiches so that it is different weekly. The combo of the week is the sandwich with a fairly large portion of fries that even two people can eat with. I love the spiral shape of the fries. The presentation and taste are delicious.
El costo del combo de la semana es de 6$ y viene el sándwich y la ración de papas fritas. Si pides otro sabor que no sea el combo, cuesta 6$ y si lo acompañas en ese caso con papas fritas, son 2$ más para un total de 8$.
Compartimos en familia un buen momento. Mi madre y su esposo quedaron fascinados con los sándwiches pues, a decir verdad, la calidad de los mismos es estupenda desde todo punto de vista. Es un sitio que recomiendo para esos momentos en que quieran escaparse de la dieta y rendirse a esos placeres culposos que si bien no deben ser permanentes, bien vale la pena darse el gusto alguna vez.
Compartir en familia va más allá de cualquier precio. Es el momento en que se conjugan las energías del amor y nos llenan de vibras positivas para seguir adelante muy a pesar de los momentos que vivimos.
Recomiendo este lugar para quienes viven en Lecherías, Estado Anzoátegui (Venezuela) y si van en familia, de seguro la pasarán tan bien como la pasé yo.
The cost of the combo of the week is 6 $ and it comes with the sandwich and the portion of fries. If you order another flavor other than the combo, it costs 6 $ and if you accompany it in that case with fries, it is 2 $ more for a total of 8 $.
We had a good time as a family. My mother and her husband were fascinated with the sandwiches because, to tell the truth, their quality is great from every point of view. It is a place that I recommend for those moments when you want to escape from your diet and surrender to those guilty pleasures that, although they should not be permanent, it is well worth indulging in once in a while.
Sharing with the family goes beyond any price. It is the moment when the energies of love come together and fill us with positive vibes to move forward despite the times we live in.
I recommend this place for those who live in Lecherías, Anzoátegui State (Venezuela) and if you go with your family, you will surely have as good a time as I did.
