Live Thanksgiving service . . . 5th February 2022.
Thanks be to God
With this opportunity, I thank you for the gift of life and health in abundance. I also want to share with us what I learnt from the Thanksgiving service held today.
Today's teaching began with the preaching of listening and keeping the word of God in our hearts 💕. The bible made us understand that people who do not put the word into use, the little they have will be taken away from them and will be given to people that hears more and put them in use. What this means is, when we listen to the word, we should keep it by putting it in daily practice. When we fail to listen, the little one we had will be taken away from us. Matthew 25:28_29 made us understand that God will take from the one who bear no fruit and add to the one whose gift counts ten already.
I also learnt from proverbs 15:1 that grievous words stir up anger while soft words turns away wrath. This have a lot to do with our manner of approach towards one another. From this bible verse, it was made clear that the best way to achieve peace and calmness amongst one another is by minding the way we speak to people. This is important because anger bring action which could be violent.
Revelation 22:11 and also that us that those who are in righteousness should remain in righteousness because the hour of Christ coming is unknown. When we remain in righteousness, we won't be taken by surprise because we will be ready. Also listening to the word of God should be a continuous process. God However, is pleased with the doers of the word not just the listeners. Therefore, listening without putting it in action is vain . 1 Peter 1:15 also taught us to be holy for God our father in heaven is holy. While relating with others, we should show the Godly nature in us.
Finally from Matthew 28:20, I understood that our lives should reflect the gospel of God. We should be mindful of things we listens to and also the messenger conveying the message. The bible says, teach them to observe all things as I have commanded. So the commandments of God should be observed strictly.
