The Weekend Life Rewrote For Me.

So, this weekend was supposed to be a very restful one for me. I had it all planned out, I really need to rest and doing my laundry would be the only thing stressful which I would be doing.

But then, I never knew life had other plans for me. Around 9am my phone rang, it was the Grandma staying few minutes away from my place. She had taken me and treated me so much like her own.

Most of the time if she calls me like that in the morning, then it's that they've put on their generator and she wants to inform me so I can come over to charge.

So, I picked it up and it was never about charging, she actually needs my help.

I dropped the call, looked at the dirty clothes I had already packed at a corner and sighed. I quickly brushed my teeth and washed my face before making my way down to her place.

I spent over five hours there helping her move boxes, running errands, changing the carpet on the floor and doing one arrangement or the other. Later, when I finished it all, she had already gotten me a cold bottle of Coke and chin Chin which I told her I would need to take it home. Because I need to bathe and freshen up first before taking anything.

It wasn't the weekend I had planned and imagined, still it felt right.

When I got home, it was still as I left it, but I was too tired to do anything. I just went to bathe, lay on my bed and smiled. Even though the weekend didn't give me the rest I had imagined, it reminded me that being there for someone in need is sometimes everything.

In short, my weekend went completely off script, but it gave me a memory worth more than a perfectly planned one.
