Dos en uno, restauración y disfrute // Two in one: dining and enjoyment.

Hola amigos de #hive y en especial a la comunidad de @home.solutions solutions , como siempre espero que se encuentren bien al igual que sus familiares y amigos. En el día de hoy paso por acá para mostrarles como restauré un juego de sala viejo y le di un nuevo uso. Resulta que hace algún tiempo me compré un juego de sala nuevo, pues ya el que tenía estaba bastante malito y decidí cambiarlo, pero cuando uno le toma cariño a las cosas no hay corazón para deshacerse de ellas, así que decidí restaurarlos y darles un nuevo uso.

Bueno les cuento, resulta que mi casa es muy calurosa y el único lugar bien fresco es el balcón del mi casa, y justo ahí no tenía muebles aún, así que lo primero que hice fue que los puse en este lugar y después me dispuse a repararlos, pues la verdad les tengo mucho cariño, ya que fueron los primeros que tuve y no quería deshacerme de ellos. Sin pensar mucho en ello y sin perder el impulso, busque las cositas que necesitaba para ello y puse manos a la obra, pues como dicen por ahí para luego es tarde.

Lo primero que hice fue quitarle a los muebles la pajilla que tenía, que la misma ya estaba bastante rota y viejita, así que decidí quitarla por completo, sin pensar, tomé un cuchillo que era la herramienta que tenía para eso, y poco a poco lo fui quitando todo con cuidado para no dañarme, pues estaban agarradas con clavitos. Luego de terminar todo, los sacudí muy bien y quedó justo en la madera, listo para dar pintura.

Casi todos en mi casa está pintado de blanco y esta no sería la excepción, pues me gusta mucho este color y a la vista todo luce con más limpieza, así que lo prefiero siempre. Así que sin pensar tomé la pintura y comencé a pintar todo el mueble y también las butaquitas, cosa de que quedara todo parejo y bonito. Esto me tomo varios días, pues solo con una mano de pintura no quedaba bien, así que tuve que esperar y después le di otra mano más de pintura para que quedara parejita. Cuando ya estuvo listo de pintura, pues tome varias esponjas que tenía en casa y les hice unos cojines para que estuvieran más cómodos. Tomé unos forros y se los coloqué para que quedaran más bonitos y se los puse también. Así que quedaron restaurados y cómodos.

Bueno la verdad resolví dos problemas, otro espacio más en casa del cual disfrutar y tomar fresco y restauré los muebles de los cuales no me quería deshacer. La verdad disfruto mucho de este nuevo espacio y cada tarde tomo mi cafecito cómoda y fresca en estas tardes tan calurosas de apagón, todavía me falta por embellecedor un poco más este pequeño rincón de mi casa, pero la verdad que ya como esta lo voy disfrutando muchísimo. Today I’m stopping by to show you how I restored an old living room set and gave it a new purpose. It turns out that a while back I bought a new living room set, since the one I had was in pretty bad shape and I decided to replace it. But when you grow attached to things, you just can’t bring yourself to get rid of them, so I decided to restore them and give them a new purpose.

Well, here’s the story: it turns out my house gets really hot, and the only cool spot is the balcony, and I didn’t have any furniture there yet. So the first thing I did was put the old set out there, and then I set about fixing them up—I’m really attached to them, since they were the first ones I ever had, and I didn’t want to get rid of them. Without thinking too much about it and without losing momentum, I gathered the supplies I needed and got to work, because as they say, it’s too late to do it later.

The first thing I did was remove the straw from the furniture, since it was already pretty worn out and old, so I decided to take it all off. Without thinking, I grabbed a knife—the only tool I had for the job—and carefully scraped it all off bit by bit, being careful not to hurt myself, since it was secured with small nails. After finishing everything, I shook it out really well, and it was left just the bare wood, ready for a coat of paint.

Almost everything in my house is painted white, and this wouldn’t be an exception, since I really like this color and it makes everything look cleaner, so I always prefer it. So without thinking twice, I grabbed the paint and started painting the entire piece of furniture and the little chairs too, so everything would look even and nice. This took me several days, since one coat of paint wasn’t enough, so I had to wait and then apply another coat to make it even. Once the painting was done, I took some sponges I had at home and made cushions for them so they’d be more comfortable. I took some fabric and put them on so they’d look nicer, and I put those on too. So they ended up restored and comfortable.

Well, to be honest, I solved two problems: I gained another space at home to enjoy and stay cool, and I restored the furniture I didn’t want to get rid of. I really enjoy this new space, and every afternoon I have my coffee comfortably and coolly during these hot afternoons with power outages. I still need to spruce up this little corner of my house a bit more, but honestly, I’m already enjoying it so much just the way it is.
