ENGLISH VERSION

"We want it to be an opportunity full of facilities to ensure that you always come out winning".... This phrase makes me remember when I started in the labor field, I was 18 years old and I needed to work, I was employed as a saleswoman of ceiling lamps of balloons and pendant type tears, at that time it was the most elegant in interior decoration.

The person who recommended me was my supervisor and I was supposed to give him my sales report every month, and he was supposed to pass it to the payroll department so they could pay me my percentage.

Until then everything was normal, until the company asked me to open a payroll account and so I did, I received my biweekly payment on time, but the month passed and the next month and I did not see any commission deposits. Being young, shy and insecure, I did not complain or ask questions, and I continued working for the biweekly salary they had offered me, but my heart was getting damaged, thinking that they were stealing from me, that they were liars, that they were not complying with that part of the contract, it was a rain of thoughts that were accumulating and turning into resentment.

Until one day three months later they called me from human resources and told me that they were terminating my employment contract because I was not producing and my job was to sell, that day my eyes were opened in one blow, I understood that they were stealing from me and it was not the company directly but my supervisor.

That man could see in me that shyness that accepted everything without saying anything and he took advantage of it, at that moment I explained to the head of Human Resources what had happened. She asked me to prove it and I didn't know how and I was fired. The good thing was that a good Samaritan, one of those honest, integrated people that you rarely see these days, advocated for me and served as a witness exposing herself to lose her job, she said that she saw during those three months how I gave her my monthly sales report.

To my surprise I was good at it, but I never left a copy of those reports for me, which was the administrative protocol to follow and I did not know it, of course it was convenient for my supervisor to keep me in ignorance and I did not complain in the first month that my commission payment failed.

A few days later they called me and paid me what I was entitled to, but they did not give me my job back, and the explanation was: You are good in sales, we could see it from the reports, but we cannot receive you because you are working with money and you have to cover all the fronts, working with money implies major commitments that involve and put at risk the reputation of the company and if you do not claim what is yours, how can you claim or defend the company, we work with people with a sense of belonging and who know how to assert their rights. Take it with you as an experience and learn from it. That day was my first great disappointment in myself. I will never forget that experience that in the end marked my life for the better, in the sense of not trusting completely in those supposed opportunities without first making sure to cover my back as they say out there, I was never the same again, I can say that in that sense I matured in one fell swoop.
