Dicen que todo en la vida es sobre perder o ganar, como si realmente la vida fuese tan sencilla, y que sólo se resumiera en lo que pierdes con tristeza o lo que ganas con alegría. En estos tiempos tan delicados y tan fuertes, es cuando nos damos cuenta de los matices de la vida, nos damos cuenta de lo difícil del día a día, de lo que cada vez más cuesta sacar una sonrisa.

Hay quienes llevan años luchando contra una enfermedad, hay quienes no llegan a contar los años...

Desde muy pequeños nos han enseñado que son las personas adultas las que fallecen, las que se van, conforme vamos creciendo nos damos cuenta que eso es una fantasía, la muerte es y será lo único seguro que tendremos, que no importa tu situación económica, estatus social o quién seas o hagas, ella no ve nada de eso, si es tu momento irá tras de ti.

Entonces entre tanta oscuridad, entre tanto sufrimiento, entre tantas cosas que han pasado, ¿de verdad no vamos a aprender nada de esto?

De verdad no vamos a empezar a apreciar el tiempo que alguien comparte contigo, las historias que tienen para contarte, los abrazos, los saludos, las despedidas. La familia... la familia que te vio crecer o los amigos que escogiste como familia que están creciendo contigo. De verdad ¿pretendes seguir viviendo sin apreciar lo que sí tiene valor?

Por quiénes ya no están, empieza a hacerlo.

Porque no todo en la vida es perder o ganar, porque también hay que empezar a apreciar.

It is in these very delicate and strong times that we realize the nuances of life, we realize how difficult the day to day is, how hard it is to smile.

There are those who have been fighting a disease for years, there are those who do not even count the years....

From a very young age we have been taught that adults are the ones who die, the ones who go away, as we grow up we realize that this is a fantasy, death is and will be the only sure thing we will have, that no matter your economic situation, social status or who you are or what you do, it does not see any of that, if it is your time it will come after you.

So among so much darkness, among so much suffering, among so many things that have happened, are we really not going to learn anything from this?

Are we really not going to start appreciating the time someone shares with you, the stories they have to tell you, the hugs, the hellos, the goodbyes, the goodbyes? Family... the family that watched you grow up or the friends you chose as family that are growing up with you. Do you really want to go on living without appreciating what is valuable?

For those who are gone, start doing it.

Because not everything in life is losing or winning, because you also have to start appreciating.
