Writing help

  • A free app: Grammarly. A lot of us are not native English speakers and I am finding it a helpful app. It will underline spelling and grammar mistakes. Just remember that is is not always right -especially if you use complex sentence structures. Here is the link

  • Remember The Most Dangerous Writing App. You set the time - 5 min - and start typing. Don’t stop!!! It will destroy what you wrote if you stop for more than 3 seconds - and backspace does not count as writing on the app. If you are prone to stop and think - this app forces you to keep going. You can make corrections after the 5 minutes are over.

  • A timer. Egg timer is a free tool you can use on your desktop to set a time. This is useful for our freewrites or if you want to work in blocks of time and then take a break. Here is the link

  • I found this app through @emwalker. Use it regularly and it will help you type faster and more accurately. [10 fast fingers](https://10fastfingers.com/typing-test/english

I have a favor to ask. If you are on YouTube, can you please subscribe to my Sustainable Living Podcast channel. I am not asking you to watch, just to subscribe. I want to be able to do live Yoga classes and need more subscribers before I can access that function. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCA73SuaMBnBIaB5OdiL_y6Q

I remember this day I was going to meet my brother at work to get some stuff for my mom. He told me to meet him around 1 pm which I agreed to it, My brother asked me to leave at noon because it was during the festive period but I didn't answer him because of the feeling of I know the route.
The good thing was I didn't leave my house until 12:20 pm because the journey won't take more than 30mins. When I got to the bus station around 12:30 I didn't find any bus stationed there which i thought was due to the traffic light not knowing I was wrong. I waited about 10mins until I notice it was more than what I thought, so i decide to walk to the next bus station with the hope of getting a bus, It was when I got there I heard people saying it has been a stand still traffic for 30 minutes.
I got lost instantly, what should I do? I can't go back home and I have to get to my brother working place. I sighted some commercial bikes on the other side of the road, I approached them and they said no even after offering to pay double. My phone started ringing, and my brother was calling, I picked up and said I'm on my way. I waited for some minutes hoping I would get a bike but no and the traffic begin to get worse. I walked for close to 30 minutes inside the hot Lagos sun, and my phone didn't stop ringing. Both my mom and elder kept on calling.
I got to his working place around 2 pm looking like someone who is hawking around on the street, I was tired and smelling. My present state couldn't allow him to shout at me, I asked where is the stuff for mom and he said he couldn't get it and that he is going to give me money to give her. I couldn't say anything but the anger I was feeling after replied me brought tears to my eyes. I collected the money and also my transport fare and head back home. The only thing I did after I got home was had my shower and slept till the next morning

The interview was scheduled for 9 am on Tuesday and I was prepared for everything the night before, I went through my stuff again to be sure before laying on my bed.

I tried sleeping but it won't come, it looked like anxiety got the best of me. It would be my first interview since graduation and I couldn't take my mind off it. I left the bedroom to the sitting room, turned on the TV, and watched some sports stories.

I was up till around 3 am and didn't know when I slept off, I woke up around 7 am but felt tired. I did my morning devotion and relax again as I waited for my meal to cook. I wasn't in a rush since the company is just a 10-minute ride from my house.

I enjoyed my meal and set out for the interview at 8 am, the cab man told me the road is blocked ahead so he wants to take a longer route that is double the time of the usual route. It was okay by me so we left, the first five minutes of the trip were smooth until we entered a gridlock
.
He said it was just a small issue ahead and we will be gone in a few minutes but we were stuck for over 15 minutes, time was running so I came down and ask for a bike man but no one would go because of the gridlock. I wanted to go back but the road behind was blocked as well, trekking wasn't an option. I was thinking of a solution when I heard someone yelling my name so I turned to look back when I noticed I was still in my room.

It was my friend checking to see if I was around, I checked the time and it was exactly 8:35 am.
