Writing help

  • A free app: Grammarly. A lot of us are not native English speakers and I am finding it a helpful app. It will underline spelling and grammar mistakes. Just remember that is is not always right -especially if you use complex sentence structures. Here is the link

  • Remember The Most Dangerous Writing App. You set the time - 5 min - and start typing. Don’t stop!!! It will destroy what you wrote if you stop for more than 3 seconds - and backspace does not count as writing on the app. If you are prone to stop and think - this app forces you to keep going. You can make corrections after the 5 minutes are over.

  • A timer. Egg timer is a free tool you can use on your desktop to set a time. This is useful for our freewrites or if you want to work in blocks of time and then take a break. Here is the link

Hi @mariannewest I hope that you and your family are all well today. I just wanted to pop in and let you know that I'm going to be more active once again on Hive now that I have finished establishing my account on Scorum and because Hive and Scorum have formed a partnership that will make it easier in the near future for me to enjoy the benefits of both platforms. I am so happy to see that the daily Freewrite and the Freewrite House remain an active part of the Hive community. Perhaps now that we have this partnership and Scorum has launched its new blogging site "Scorum World" we can consider expanding the Freewrite to Scorm as memberships and participation begin to grow again. I'm going to go read and support some of todays freewrites now, I joined the Discord channel as "pete" so I'll probably talk to you in there at some point. See Ya!

Last night I dreamed that I was standing before an above ground petrified forest. The trees were standing tall and erect and I wondered about the mechanisms of time and mineral absorption that could have left these giants as if frozen in place by the gaze of some passing ice princess. Their limbs were outstretched as if Spartans prepared for eternal battle. I woke to the sound of thunder and the tinkling of sleet and snow blowing against my bedroom window. Perhaps this was not a dream at all, maybe during these rare thundersnow storms our subconscious mind can briefly see the legions of angelic beings standing tall and silent as they watch over the world always ready to protect the meek and the innocent.
