  • Set your timer for 5 minutes
  • Start writing

Writing help

  • A free app: Grammarly. A lot of us are not native English speakers and I am finding it a helpful app. It will underline spelling and grammar mistakes. Just remember that is is not always right -especially if you use complex sentence structures. Here is the link

  • Remember The Most Dangerous Writing App. You set the time - 5 min - and start typing. Don’t stop!!! It will destroy what you wrote if you stop for more than 3 seconds - and backspace does not count as writing on the app. If you are prone to stop and think - this app forces you to keep going. You can make corrections after the 5 minutes are over.

  • A timer. Egg timer is a free tool you can use on your desktop to set a time. This is useful for our freewrites or if you want to work in blocks of time and then take a break. Here is the link

Howdy @mariannewest 🙌

I was an active writer on this platform back when it was still Steemit (approx 4 years ago). And am just now getting back into the swing of things.

This seemed as good a post as any to ask this: but are cross-posts to this community strictly prohibited? From what I understood of the rules, if the post/story is of good enough quality the mods will approve the cross-post.

Anyways, I like this thing you guys got going on with the daily prompt, breed creativity, which is never a bad thing.

I joined the discord but doesn't seem to be all that active anymore. Oh well, hope you have a nice day. 😇

The community is mostly for people participating in the daily prompt and in the freewrite House activities. But we are pretty tolerant and inclusive. So, post away.
Thank you for joining the Discord. Maybe some others will join you and we can make it more active again. Right now, for me personally, posting here is all I can handle as far as social media presence is concerned.
But we always embrace volunteers to take on different aspects of the community. If Discord is your thing, you are welcome to step up to make it lively again :)
