Hoy, 1 de julio de 2022, Jesús de Nazaret nos invita a ser misericordiosos con nuestros hermanos y para ello se apropia de la frase del profeta Oseas 6,6: Porque misericordia quiero y no sacrificio. El Mesías cita al profeta, porque este, en su momento, condenó a los judíos que ofrecían sacrificios de animales para que Dios perdonara sus faltas, ellos pedían perdón pero no perdonaban. El profeta Oseas se dio cuenta que esa gente valoraba mas el ritual del sacrificio que a sus hermanos, a ellos no les importaba el bienestar de su prójimo.

Los fariseos condenaban a Jesús porque este se reunía con publicanos y pecadores; por esa razón, Jesús utilizó la frase del profeta Oseas; y además, dejó claro que Él no había venido al mundo a llamar a los justos, sino a los pecadores. Para Jesús lo mas importante era la salvación de los que estaban en pecado, Él valora al pecador y no al pecado, Jesús aborrece el pecado pero ama al pecador. Este ejemplo de nuestro Señor Jesucristo es digno de seguir, todo cristiano debe ser misericordioso.

Today, July 1, 2022, Jesus of Nazareth invites us to be merciful to our brothers and to do so appropriates the phrase of the prophet Hosea 6,6: Because I want mercy and not sacrifice. The Messiah quotes to the prophet, because he, at the time, condemned the Jews who offered animal sacrifices so that God would forgive their faults, they asked for forgiveness but did not forgive. The prophet Hosea realized that these people valued the ritual of sacrifice more than their brothers, they did not care about the welfare of their neighbor.

The Pharisees condemned Jesus because he met with publicans and sinners; for that reason, Jesus used the phrase of the prophet Hosea; and furthermore, He made it clear that He had not come into the world to call the righteous, but sinners. For Jesus the most important thing was the salvation of those who were in sin, He values the sinner and not the sin, Jesus hates sin but loves the sinner. This example of our Lord Jesus Christ is worth following, every Christian must be merciful.

[ESP] Lectura del santo evangelio segun san mateo 9, 9-13

En aquel tiempo, Jesús vio a un hombre llamado Mateo, sentado a su mesa de recaudador de impuestos, y le dijo: "Sígueme". Él se levantó y lo siguió.

Después, cuando estaba a la mesa en casa de Mateo, muchos publicanos y pecadores se sentaron también a comer con Jesús y sus discípulos. Viendo esto, los fariseos preguntaron a los discípulos: "¿Por qué su Maestro viene con publicanos y pecadores?" Jesús los oyó y les dijo: "No son los sanos los que necesitan de médico, sino los enfermos. Vayan, pues, y aprendan lo que significa: Yo quiero misericordia y no sacrificios. Yo no he venido a llamar a los justos, sino a los pecadores".

At that time, Jesus saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector's table and said to him, "Follow me." He got up and followed him.

Later, when he was at table in Matthew's house, many publicans and sinners also sat down to eat with Jesus and his disciples. Seeing this, the Pharisees asked the disciples: "Why does your Master come with publicans and sinners?" Jesus heard them and said: "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. Go, then, and learn what it means: I want mercy and not sacrifices. I have not come to call the righteous, but to sinners."
