Un buen hijo busca siempre complacer los sanos y hermosos deseos de su madre. Jesús de Nazaret, el hijo por excelencia, no fue la excepción, Él tiene un lazo tan íntimo con su progenitora que cumple su voluntad, la ama como solo Dios sabe amar, por esa razón, Él busca siempre su bienestar, le encanta que ella esté bien y que además esté contenta. Por la afirmación anterior es que no comprendo cómo existen personas que dicen amar al Hijo pero no respetan a su madre, quienes dicen que aman al Hijo deben darle a la madre el sitial de honor que el Hijo le dió; además, hablar con la madre, ser amigo de la madre y amar a la madre es una bonita y mas sencilla manera de llegar al Hijo. Todo lo que la madre pide al Hijo el Hijo se lo da.

A good son always seeks to please the healthy and beautiful wishes of his mother. Jesus of Nazareth, the son par excellence, was no exception, He has such an intimate bond with his mother that he fulfills her will, loves her as only God knows how to love, for that reason, He always seeks her well-being, he loves that she be well and also be happy. Because of the previous statement, I do not understand how there are people who say they love the Son but do not respect their mother, those who say they love the Son should give the mother the seat of honor that the Son gave her; besides, talking to the mother, being a friend of the mother and loving the mother is a beautiful and simpler way to reach the Son. Everything that the mother asks of the Son, the Son gives it to her.

En el evangelio de hoy, domingo 16 de enero de 2022, el evangelista san Juan (2, 1-11) trae un episodio de la vida del Mesías que ningún otro evangelio reseña, las bodas de Caná; este pasaje bíblico describe lo que muchos llaman el primer milagro realizado por Jesús, hecho ocurrido en una boda en Caná de Galilea a la que también asistían su madre y sus discípulos. San Juan relata que en medio de la celebración se acabó el vino por lo que María, la madre de Jesús de Nazaret, acude a su Hijo para que trate de solucionar ese problema, al principío Jesús dice a su madre: “Mujer, ¿qué podemos hacer tú y yo? Todavía no llega mi hora" pero la madre no discute con Él, solo dice a los sirvientes: “Hagan lo que él les diga.” Esta frase llena de fe, esperanza y vida a los cristianos, por esa razón hacemos la voluntad de Jesús.

In today's gospel, Sunday, January 16, 2022, the evangelist Saint John (2, 1-11) brings an episode from the life of the Messiah that no other gospel reviews, the wedding at Cana; This biblical passage describes what many call the first miracle performed by Jesus, an event that occurred at a wedding in Cana of Galilee, which was also attended by his mother and his disciples. Saint John relates that in the middle of the celebration the wine ran out so Mary, the mother of Jesus of Nazareth, goes to her Son to try to solve that problem, at the beginning Jesus says to his mother: “Woman What can you and I do? My time hasn't come yet" but the mother doesn't argue with Him, she just says to the servants: "Do what he tells you." This phrase fills Christians with faith, hope and life , for that reason we do the will of Jesus.

Seguidamente los sirvientes cumplieron lo que María y después Jesús les pidieron que hicieran:

Había allí seis tinajas de piedra, de unos cien litros cada una, que servían para las purificaciones de los judíos. Jesús dijo a los que servían: “Llenen de agua esas tinajas”. Y las llenaron hasta el borde. Entonces les dijo: “Saquen ahora un poco y llévenselo al mayordomo”.

¡Milagro! el agua fue convertida en vino, pero no en un vino de mala calidad sino el mejor: “Todo el mundo sirve primero el vino mejor, y cuando los invitados ya han bebido bastante, se sirve el corriente. Tú, en cambio, has guardado el vino mejor hasta ahora”.

Existen en este evangelio dos frases o claves importantes que merecen especial atención, la primera: "Habían allí seis tinajas de piedra, de unos cien litros cada una, que servían para las purificaciones de los judíos" y la segunda frase importante: Tú, en cambio, has guardado el vino mejor hasta ahora." Presumo que en realidad lo que el evangelista Juan quería mostrar en las bodas de caná no era en realidad el milagro del agua por vino sino que su sangre (representada por el vino) era la que realmente purificaba al hombre y le podía salvar, en lugar del rito judío de la purificación representado por esas vasijas.

The servants then did what Mary and then Jesus asked them to do:

There were six stone jars there, of about one hundred liters each, which were used for the purification of the Jews. Jesus said to those who served: "Fill those jars with water." And they filled them until the edge. Then he said to them: "Take out a little now and take it to the butler."

Miracle! the water was turned into wine, but not a poor quality wine but the best: “Everyone serves the best wine first, and when the guests have had enough to drink, the current is served. You, on the other hand, have kept the best wine so far.”

There are two important phrases or keys in this gospel that deserve special attention, the first: "There were six stone jars there, of about one hundred liters each, which were used for the purification of the Jews" and the second important phrase: You, on the other hand, have kept the best wine until now." I presume that in reality what the evangelist John wanted to show at the wedding at Cana was not actually the miracle of water for wine but that his blood (represented by the wine) was the one that really purified man and could save him, instead of the Jewish rite of purification represented by those vessels.

En aquel tiempo, hubo una boda en Caná de Galilea, a la cual asistió la madre de Jesús. Éste y sus discípulos también fueron invitados. Como llegara a faltar el vino, María le dijo a Jesús: “Ya no tienen vino”. Jesús le contestó: “Mujer, ¿qué podemos hacer tú y yo? Todavía no llega mi hora”. Pero ella dijo a los que servían: “Hagan lo que él les diga”.

Había allí seis tinajas de piedra, de unos cien litros cada una, que servían para las purificaciones de los judíos. Jesús dijo a los que servían: “Llenen de agua esas tinajas”. Y las llenaron hasta el borde. Entonces les dijo: “Saquen ahora un poco y llévenselo al mayordomo”.

Así lo hicieron, y en cuanto el mayordomo probó el agua convertida en vino, sin saber su procedencia, porque sólo los sirvientes la sabían, llamó al novio y le dijo: “Todo el mundo sirve primero el vino mejor, y cuando los invitados ya han bebido bastante, se sirve el corriente. Tú, en cambio, has guardado el vino mejor hasta ahora”.

Esto que hizo Jesús en Caná de Galilea fue el primero de sus signos. Así manifestó su gloria y sus discípulos creyeron en él.

Reading of the holy gospel according to Saint John 2, 1-11

At that time, there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, which was attended by the mother of Jesus. He and his disciples were also invited. They did so, and as soon as the butler tasted the water turned into wine, without knowing where it came from, because only the servants knew, he called the groom and told him: "Everyone serves the best wine first, and when the guests they have had enough to drink, they pour themselves the current. You, on the other hand, have kept the best wine so far.”

What Jesus did in Cana of Galilee was the first of his signs. Thus he manifested his glory and his disciples believed in him.
