El sentido de pertenencia es un concepto amplio el cual se puede entender desde la perspectiva biológica, psicológica y sociológica, factores que impactan al individuo e involucran desde la familia hasta la Nación y mas allá, con todo lo que esto supone y conlleva.

The sense of belonging is a broad concept which can be understood from the biological, psychological and sociological perspective, factors that impact the individual and involve from the family to the Nation and beyond, with all that this implies and entails.

En esta publicación me centraré en el sentido de pertenencia al recinto educativo, el cual definiré como: “el nivel de apego del estudiante, del profesor, del personal administrativo y obrero, de los padres y representantes y de los miembros de la comunidad circundante a su institución educativa, a su historia, a su epónimo y su identificación y compromiso con las normas de convivencia, con las normativas y reglas, que de manera consensuada, todos elaboraron y aprobaron para darle fiel cumplimiento, creando así un ambiente sano, lleno de armonía y paz. En esta definición la participación de todos es importante y se manifiesta desde la responsabilidad académica hasta involucrarse en todas las actividades que mejoren el ambiente escolar interno y en las actividades extracurriculares.

In this publication I will focus on the sense of belonging to the educational campus, which I will define as: "the level of attachment of the student, the teacher, the administrative and labor staff, the parents and representatives and the members of the surrounding community to their educational institution, to their history, to their eponym and their identification and commitment to the norms of coexistence, with the regulations and rules, which in a consensual manner, all elaborated and approved to give it faithful fulfillment, thus creating a healthy environment, full of harmony and peace. In this definition the participation of all is important and is manifested from academic responsibility to get involved in all activities that improve the internal school environment and extracurricular activities.

Cuando los miembros de la comunidad educativa sienten pertenencia por su institución grandes cosas ocurren, todos remán en una misma dirección y se crea con facilidad un ambiente de armonía, respeto, alegría y paz, se convive en un espacio limpio, saludable y agradable para todos, no existe la monotonía y se privilegia la innovación y el talento; además, se incrementan las actividades motivacionales que eleven la moral y nivel académico de los estudiantes.

When the members of the educational community feel belonging to their institution, great things happen, they all row in the same direction and an atmosphere of harmony, respect, joy and peace is easily created, it coexists in a clean, healthy and pleasant space for all, there is no monotony and innovation and talent are privileged; In addition, motivational activities that raise the morale and academic level of students are increased.

Muchas son las consideraciones que se pueden hacer del tema, pero para no abusar del espacio y del tiempo de ustedes, solo rememoraré con algunas fotografías el momento que me tocó ser el director de uno de los liceos mas importantes de la ciudad de Guarenas, Municipio Plaza, Estado Miranda, República Bolivariana de Venezuela, me refiero al Liceo Nacional Alonso Andrea de Ledesma extraordinaria experiencia que viví antes de recibir mi jubilación, por el cumplimiento de mis años de servicio en la educación venezolana.

Cuando se tiene un verdadero sentido de pertenencia se ama, se cuida y se respeta lo que a uno le pertenece, en este caso la Institución Educativa. El hecho de convivir en un espacio de conocimiento, de enseñanza y aprendizaje, de luz y ciencia hace que el espíritu se inunde con las ganas de conservar y mantener bonito el espacio, para hacer un ambiente acogedor. Mi mamá decía: "El que no cuida lo que tiene a pedir se queda" este refrán nos indica que por muy poco que sea, debemos valorar lo que tenemos. Mi filosofía de vida es pasar haciendo el bien y dejar mejor que como lo encontré el sitio donde voy; por esa razón, a parte de mis funciones como director, me dediqué a dar el ejemplo y a motivar el sentido de pertenencia.

When you have a true sense of belonging, you love, care for and respect what belongs to you, in this case the Educational Institution. The fact of living in a space of knowledge, teaching and learning, light and science makes the spirit flood with the desire to preserve and keep the space beautiful, to make a cozy atmosphere. My mom said: "He who does not take care of what he has to ask for stays" this saying tells us that no matter how little it is, we must value what we have. My philosophy of life is to spend doing good and leave better than I found the place where I go; for that reason, apart from my duties as director, I dedicated myself to set an example and motivate the sense of belonging.

Los últimos tres años de mi servicio activo como docente adscrito al Ministerio del Poder Popular Para la Educación, lo estuve ejerciendo como Director de la Institución antes mencionada y ahí fueron innumerables las actividades académicas, deportivas, culturales, religiosas, comunitarias, de salud; entre otras, que se realizaron, por lo que tengo en mi poder un amplio registro fotográfico que pudiera exponer, pero como esta publicación está dedicada al sentido de pertenencia inclinado al mantenimiento y conservación de la estructura solo les mostraré una pequeña muestra de imágenes. Brigada Eskwela usually starts one week before classes start. In Brigada Eskwela all the entities of the school and the students' parents come together on a specific date to clean and repair the whole of the campus (which is always fun since we have the opportunity of bonding with our child's school teachers). Brigada Eskwela is not mandatory, it is because of the "belonging" and "attachment" why we come together as one for the benefit of the school and the students.

Usted, empero, lo logró en su papel de director de un centro de educación que espero haya sido continuado por los que le siguieron en el cargo. En este momento, miles de centros educativos en Venezuela están a la espera de ser reparados para poder iniciar las actividades docentes.
