Cada vez que leemos la reacción de Jesús de Nazaret ante los mercaderes del templo nos acordamos del evangelio de san Juan 2,13-25, quien menciona este acontecimiento con detalles y a la vez comprendemos la frase: "El celo por tu casa me consume; sobre mí han recaído los insultos de tus detractores." (Salmos 69:9) Este salmo fue recordado por los apóstoles cuando Jesús, látigo en mano, echó a los vendedores y cambistas del Templo de Jerusalén.

Every time we read the reaction of Jesus of Nazareth to the merchants of the temple we remember the Gospel of John 2:13-25 who mentions this event in detail and at the same time we understand the phrase: "Zeal for your house consumes me; the insults of your detractors have fallen upon me." (Psalm 69:9) This psalm was remembered by the apostles when Jesus, whip in hand, threw out the vendors and money changers of the Temple in Jerusalem.

Los evangelio de san Juan 2,13-25 y san Lucas 19,45-48 han sido ampliamente comentados y también interpretados a lo largo de la historia; por esa razón, me limitaré solo a comentar la respuesta del Mesías cuando algunos judíos le preguntaron: ¿Qué señal nos muestras, ya que haces esto? y Él, sin cortapisas, le responde: "Destruyan este templo, y en tres días lo levantaré." Es evidente que se refería a su cuerpo, el cual resucitó al tercer día de haber muerto en la cruz. En este orden de idea debemos reflexionar qué trato estamos dando a nuestro "templo," ¿lo estamos cuidando?, ¿lo respetamos?, ¿lo nutrimos con alimentos para nuestra salud física, mental y espiritual?. Nuestro cuerpo, tal como Jesús lo refiere al hablar del suyo, es un templo sagrado.

The Gospels of John 2:13-25 and Luke 19:45-48 have been widely commented on and also interpreted throughout history; For that reason, I will limit myself only to commenting on the Messiah's response when some Jews asked him: What sign do you show us, since you do this? and He, without restriction, answers him, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." It is evident that he was referring to his body, which was resurrected on the third day after he died on the cross. In this order of idea we must reflect on what treatment we are giving to our "temple," are we taking care of it?, do we respect it?, do we nourish it with food for our physical, mental and spiritual health?. Our body, as Jesus refers to it when speaking of his own, is a sacred temple.

Los budistas afirman que el cuerpo es el templo del alma por lo que se debe respetar, cuidar y amar para que no se contamine. Necesitamos un cuerpo físico para vivir y ese cuerpo alberga nuestra vida espiritual la cual llegará hasta Dios cuando nos llegue la hora de partir físicamente de este mundo.
¿No saben que son templo de Dios, y que el Espíritu de Dios mora en ustedes?
Si alguno profanare el templo de Dios, Dios le destruirá a él, porque el templo de Dios, el cual son ustedes, santo es.

Evitemos profanar nuestro cuerpo o que alguien lo profane. Nuestro cuerpo es templo sagrado por lo que debe estar libre de excesos y corrupción; así como puro de pensamientos, palabras y obras para poder albergar en él al Espiritu de Dios.

Buddhists claim that the body is the temple of the soul so it must be respected, cared for and loved so that it is not contaminated. We need a physical body to live and that body houses our spiritual life which will come to God when the time comes for us to physically depart from this world.
Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
If anyone desecrates the temple of God, God will destroy him, because the temple of God, which you are, is holy.

Let's avoid desecrating our body or someone desecrating it. Our body is a sacred temple so it must be free from excesses and corruption; as well as pure thoughts, words and deeds to be able to house in him the Spirit of God.

Aquel día, Jesús entró en el templo y comenzó a echar fuera a los que vendían y compraban allí, diciéndoles: “Está escrito: Mi casa es casa de oración; pero ustedes la han convertido en cueva de ladrones”.
Jesús enseñaba todos los días en el templo. Por su parte, los sumos sacerdotes, los escribas y los jefes del pueblo, intentaban matarlo, pero no encontraban cómo hacerlo, porque todo el pueblo estaba pendiente de sus palabras.
Palabra del Señor.

Reading of the holy evengelio according to Saint according to Luke 19:45-48
That day, Jesus entered the temple and began to cast out those who sold and bought there, telling them, "It is written: My house is a house of prayer; but you have turned it into a den of thieves."
Jesus taught every day in the temple. For their part, the high priests, the scribes and the chiefs of the people, tried to kill him, but they could not find how to do it, because all the people were aware of his words.
Word of the Lord.
Glory to you Lord Jesus.
