Hace un año, exactamente el 20 de julio de 2020, el Papa Francisco, concluyó la reflexión del Ángelus con la siguiente frase:
"La luz del Reino no son fuegos artificiales, es luz: los fuegos artificiales duran solamente un instante, la luz del Reino nos acompaña toda la vida".
Esta frase ilustra lo que nos plantea el evangelio de Lucas 17, 20-25 cuando Jesús de Nazaret dice a sus discípulos: "como el fulgor del relámpago brilla de un extremo a otro del cielo, así será la venida del Hijo del hombre en su día".

A year ago, exactly on July 20, 2020, Pope Francis concluded the reflection of the Angelus with the following sentence:
"The light of the Kingdom is not fireworks, it is light: fireworks last only an instant, the light of the Kingdom accompanies us all our lives."
This phrase illustrates what the Gospel of Luke 17:20-25 poses to us when Jesus of Nazareth says to his disciples: "as the brightness of lightning shines from one end of heaven to the other, so will be the coming of the Son of man in his day."

En el evangelio de Lucas 17, 20-25 los fariseos le preguntaron a Jesús: “¿Cuándo llegará el Reino de Dios?” y el Mesías les respondió:
el Reino de Dios ya está entre ustedes." Lástima que los fariseos no comprendieron la afirmación del Nazareno y solo se concentraron en quitarlo del medio; por esa razón, el evangelio concluye con la frase de Jesús:
Pero antes tiene que padecer mucho y ser rechazado por los hombres de esta generación”. Todavía mucha gente no comprende que todos estamos llamados a participar en la construcción del Reino de los cielos. Con la venida de Jesús de Nazaret Dios se hizo presente entre nosotros, Él extendió su redención a toda la humanidad y hoy nos sigue llamando a ser salvos por medio de su Hijo, Jesucristo, para disfrutar a plenitud de su Reino celestial.

In the Gospel of Luke 17:20-25 the Pharisees asked Jesus, "When will the Kingdom of God come?" and the Messiah answered them:
the Kingdom of God is already among you." Too bad the Pharisees did not understand the nazarene's claim and only concentrated on getting him out of the way; for that reason, the Gospel concludes with the phrase of Jesus:
But first you have to suffer much and be rejected by the men of this generation." Still many people do not understand that we are all called to participate in the construction of the Kingdom of heaven. With the coming of Jesus of Nazareth God became present among us, He extended His redemption to all mankind and today He continues to call us to be saved through His Son, Jesus Christ, to fully enjoy His heavenly Kingdom.

En aquel tiempo, los fariseos le preguntaron a Jesús: “¿Cuándo llegará el Reino de Dios?” Jesús les respondió: “El Reino de Dios no llega aparatosamente. No se podrá decir: ‘Está aquí’ o ‘Está allá’, porque el Reino de Dios ya está entre ustedes”.
Les dijo entonces a sus discípulos: “Llegará un tiempo en que ustedes desearán disfrutar siquiera un solo día de la presencia del Hijo del hombre y no podrán. Entonces les dirán: ‘Está aquí’ o ‘Está allá’, pero no vayan corriendo a ver, pues así como el fulgor del relámpago brilla de un extremo a otro del cielo, así será la venida del Hijo del hombre en su día. Pero antes tiene que padecer mucho y ser rechazado por los hombres de esta generación”.

He then said to his disciples, "There will come a time when you will desire to enjoy even one day the presence of the Son of man and you will not be able to. Then they will say to them, 'It's here' or 'It's there,' but don't run to see, for just as the glow of lightning shines from one end of heaven to the other, so will be the coming of the Son of man in his day. But first he has to suffer a lot and be rejected by the men of this generation."
