Hello friends, from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela I bring a fraternal greeting and a strong and warm spiritual hug full of blessings, positive energy and lots of light. After a few days of absence I am here again with this publication, The Plaza San Miguel Shopping Center; located in the district of the same name, Lima, Republic of Peru. In addition, I have come with the enthusiasm and joy that characterizes the members of this wonderful community Architecture+Design.

Después de unos días de ausencia estoy nuevamente por aquí con esta publicación, El Centro Comercial Plaza San Miguel; ubicado en el distrito homónimo, Lima, República del Perú. Yesterday, Saturday May 14, my wife, my son and my granddaughter visited the Plaza San Miguel shopping center and from that beautiful place they sent me the photographs that are exposed in this Post. According to what I was able to investigate, the Mall is an icon of the city of Lima for being the oldest in the San Miguel District. It was inaugurated on October 15 of 1976. One of the details that caught my attention is that The ownership of the land, where the Shopping Center is located, belongs to the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.

Ayer, sábado 14 de mayo, mi esposa, mi hijo y mi nieta visitaron el centro comercial Plaza San Miguel y desde ese hermoso lugar me enviaron las fotografías que se exponen en este Post. Según lo que pude investigar el Mall es ícono de la ciudad de Lima por ser el más antiguo del Distrito San Miguel. Fue inaugurado el 15 de octubre de 1976. Uno de los detalles que me llamó la atención es que La propiedad del terreno, donde se ubica el Centro Comercial, pertenece a la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.

It is good to clarify that the district of San Miguel is one of the forty-three districts that make up the province of Lima, in the homonymous department, in Peru. This district limits to the North with the District of Bellavista and the District of Lima; to the East with the districts of Pueblo Libre and Magdalena del Mar; to the South with the Pacific Ocean; and to the West with the District of La Perla. This geographical location places it in one of the privileged sites of the City of Lima; For this and other reasons, the Plaza San Miguel Shopping Center is one of the most visited sites by locals and foreigners, tourists and inhabitants of the region.

Es bueno aclarar que el distrito de San Miguel es uno de los cuarenta y tres distritos que conforman la provincia de Lima, en el departamento homónimo, en el Perú. Este distrito limita al Norte con el Distrito de Bellavista y el Distrito de Lima; al Este con los distritos de Pueblo Libre y Magdalena del Mar; al Sur con el Océano Pacífico; y al Oeste con el Distrito de La Perla. Esta ubicación geográfica lo ubica en uno de los sitios privilegiados de la Ciudad de Lima; por esa y otras razones el Centro Comercial Plaza San Miguel es uno de los sitios mas visitados por propios y extraños, turistas y habitantes de la región.

One of the most important historical events that happened in the Plaza San Miguel Shopping Center was the visit of the then Pope John Paul II, today Saint John Paul II, a visit that occurred on a day like today, May 15, but in the year 1988 In the framework of his second visit to Peru, Saint John Paul II gathered thousands of parishioners, who gathered on the esplanade of the Plaza San Miguel Shopping Center to listen to the central Mass directed by the Supreme Pontiff. The Pope's visit occurred during the time of terrorism and the hyperinflation of the Peruvian economy, which is why it was such an important event for many Peruvians at that time. Text / texto
NOTE: The second visit of Saint John Paul II to the Republic of Peru took place in 1988 (May 14 and 15) on the occasion of the Bolivarian Marian Eucharistic Congress and his visit only lasted 40 hours. The then president Alan García Pérez was in charge of receiving him.

Uno de los acontecimientos históricos de mayor relevancia que sucedió en el Centro Comercial Plaza San Miguel fue la visita del entonces Papa Juan Pablo II, hoy San Juan Pablo II, visita que ocurrió, un día como hoy, 15 de mayo, pero del año 1988. En el marco de su segunda visita al Perú, San Juan Pablo II congregó a miles de feligreses, los cuales se reunieron en la explanada del Centro Comercial Plaza San Miguel para escuchar la Misa central dirigida por el sumo pontífice. La visita del Papa ocurrió durante la época del terrorismo y de la hiperinflación de la economía peruana, por lo cual fue un evento de tanta importancia para muchos peruanos en aquel entonces. NOTA: La segunda visita de San Juan Pablo II a la República del Perú se produjo en 1988 (14 y 15 de mayo) con ocasión del Congreso Eucarístico Mariano Bolivariano y su visita solo duró 40 horas. El entonces presidente Alan García Pérez fue el encargado de recibirlo.

The Plaza San Miguel Shopping Center has undergone several expansions throughout its 45 years, currently covering an area of 71,000 m² distributed over its 3 levels. In addition, it has a 2,500 m² convention center located on a nearby avenue. . Text / Texto My beloved wife was pleasantly impressed by how spacious, comfortable, safe and clean Plaza San Miguel was, she told me that it is fresh and well lit with spaces open that allow the passage of the breeze and natural light. El Centro Comercial Plaza San Miguel ha sufrido varias ampliaciones a lo largo de sus 45 años, en la actualidad abarca un área de 71,000 m² distribuidos en sus 3 niveles. Además, cuenta con un centro de convenciones de 2,500 m² ubicado en una avenida aledaña. Text / Texto Mi amada esposa quedó gratamente impactada por lo amplio, confortable, seguro y limpio del Plaza San Miguel, me contó que es fresco y muy iluminado con espacios abiertos que permiten el paso de la brisa y la luz natural. Quite a lot of pictures to demonstrate how the interior and exterior design of the plaza shopping center is definitely. Quite a good architectural design done on this building and the overall design on it
