[ENG] Colleges of Engineers of Venezuela (CIV)
The College of Engineers of Venezuela (CIV) is a collegiate and moral union body of a public nature, with legal personality and its own patrimony, composed of all the professionals registered in it, whether or not they are in the exercise of their profession, also regulated by the Law of the Exercise of Engineering, Architecture and Related Professions of Venezuela. Source
Its main purpose is to look after the public interest and act as an advisor to the state on matters related to areas of engineering. The CIV regulates the professional practice of Venezuelan engineers and attends to the general interests of its members.

El Colegio de Ingenieros de Venezuela (CIV) es un cuerpo gremial colegiado y moral de carácter público, con personalidad jurídica y patrimonio propio, integrado por todos los profesionales inscritos en el mismo, estén o no en el ejercicio de su profesión, regulado además por la Ley del Ejercicio de la Ingeniería, Arquitectura y Profesiones Afines de Venezuela. Su propósito principal es velar por el interés público y actuar como asesor del estado en asuntos relacionados con áreas de la ingeniería. El CIV regula el ejercicio profesional de los ingenieros venezolanos y atiende a los intereses generales de sus agremiados.

To speak in Venezuela of engineering is to remember the time that begins from the great ancestral constructions, through the ingenuity of our aborigines, to reach the mejetuosity of the colonial era where civil, religious and military engineering is manifested with the construction of large and beautiful hacienda houses, temples of different styles, cathedrals, churches, chapels and sanctuaries as well as the fortresses, castles and forts that protected the Venezuelan coasts from the constant attacks of corsairs and pirates, until reaching the great splendor and magnificence of the twentieth century and so far of the XXI.

Hablar en Venezuela de la ingeniería es rememorar el tiempo que inicia desde las grandes construcciones ancestrales, pasando por el ingenio de nuestros aborígenes, llegar a la mejestuosidad de la época colonial donde la Ingeniería civil, religiosa y militar se pone de manifiesto con la construcción de grandes y hermosas casas de haciendas, templos de distintos estilos, catedrales, iglesias, capillas y santuarios así como las fortalezas, castillos y fortines que protegían las costas venezolanas de los constantes ataques de corsarios y piratas, hasta llegar al gran esplendor y magnificencia del siglo XX y lo que va del XXI.

[ENG] According to information gathered, through an informative brochure, the genesis of the college dates from 1844, when the engineer Olegario Meneses made the proposal for the creation of the College of Engineers of Venezuela; but it was not until October 24, 1860, that the then President of Venezuela, Manuel Felipe de Tovar promulgated the decree in which the Academy of Mathematics is regulated and states in its article 45 that all the engineers of the Republic will constitute a body that will be called "College of Engineers."
[ESP] Según información recopilada, a través de un folleto informativo, la génesis del colegio data de 1844, cuando el ingeniero Olegario Meneses hizo la propuesta de la creación del Colegio de Ingenieros de Venezuela; pero no fue sino hasta el 24 de octubre de 1860, que el entonces Presidente de Venezuela, Manuel Felipe de Tovar promulgó el decreto en el cual se reglamenta la Academia de Matemáticas y enuncia en su artículo 45 que todos los ingenieros de la República constituirán un cuerpo que se denominará "Colegio de Ingenieros."

[ENG] The celebration of the preparatory meeting that leaves installed the College of Engineers of Venezuela (CIV) is held on October 28, 1861, date that remained as the Day of the Venezuelan Engineer. Recently, the Day of the Engineer in Venezuela was celebrated, a date on which a series of commemorative activities are held at the main headquarters in Caracas, to recognize the work of active or retired professionals who have left traces in the different areas of knowledge of this laudable profession; In addition, that day the members can enjoy a moment of rest and recreation in the different facilities that are in each state of the country. The College of Engineers of Venezuela is attached to 30 regional centers in 21 of the 24 federal entities of the country that exercise their representation in the respective jurisdictions.
[ESP] La celebración de la junta preparatoria que deja instalado el Colegio de Ingenieros de Venezuela (CIV) se realiza el 28 de octubre de 1861, fecha que quedó como el Día del Ingeniero venezolano. Recientemente se celebró el Día del Ingeniero en Venezuela, fecha en la cual se realizan una serie de actividades conmemorativas en la sede principal de Caracas, para reconocer la labor de los profesionales activos o jubilados que han dejado huellas en las distintas áreas del saber de esta loable profesión; además, ese día los agremiados pueden disfrutar de un momento de descanso y recreación en las distintas instalaciones que se encuentran en cada estado del País. Al Colegio de Ingenieros de Venezuela están adscritos 30 centros regionales en 21 de las 24 entidades federales del país que ejercen su representación en las respectivas jurisdicciones.

[ENG] By way of summary. Recent history of the VIC
In 1941 the construction of the Headquarters of the College of Engineers of Venezuela (CIV) was completed, located on land adjacent to Los Caobos Park. The design was made by the architect Luis Eduardo Chataing (1906-1971). The building has several works by the Venezuelan artist Francisco Narvaez, both reliefs and sculptures. The College of Engineers of Venezuela, since its foundation in 1861 had had as headquarters different sites, up to the current headquarters of the located at the following address: Boulevard Amador Bendayán, Los Caobos. Caracas 1050, Capital District.

En el año 1941 se concluye la construcción de la Sede del Colegio de Ingenieros de Venezuela (CIV), ubicado en un terreno aledaño al Parque Los Caobos. El diseño fue realizado por el arquitecto Luis Eduardo Chataing (1906-1971). El edificio cuenta con varias obras del artista venezolano Francisco Narvaez, tanto relieves como esculturas. El Colegio de Ingenieros de Venezuela, desde su fundación en 1861 había tenido como sede diferentes sitios, hasta la sede actual del ubicada en la siguiente dirección: Bulevar Amador Bendayán, Los Caobos. Caracas 1050, Distrito Capital.

[ENG] Visit to the College of Engineers of Venezuela. Headquarters, Caracas.
Yesterday, Monday, November 1, 2021, my beloved son and my beloved wife went to the main headquarters of the Coleguio de Ingenieros de Venezuela to look for the requirements so that my beloved twin sons @manuelmilano and @memj0310, who recently received their university degree that accredits them as a Civil Engineer, can join and thus be part of the unions, Collegiate. During the visit my beloved wife did not miss the opportunity and took several photographs that I publish today in this post.

Ayer, lunes 1 de noviembre de 2021, mi amado hijo y mi amada esposa fueron a la sede principal del Coleguio de Ingenieros de Venezuela a buscar los requisitos para que mis amados hijos gemelos @manuelmilano y @memj0310 , quienes recientemente recibieron su título universitario que los acredita como Ingeniero Civil, se puedan afiliar y así formar parte de los agremiados, colegiados. Durante la visita mi amada esposa no perdió la oportunidad y tomó varias fotografías que hoy publico en este post.

Hello friend Marcos. Hope you have been doing well lately. The College of Engineers of Venezuela (CIV) is definitely one of the most established institutions in your country. In my observations based on your photographs, it looks like some portions of that building complex have already been showing signs of aging. At least, there are some patches of natural elements that give life to the place and prevent it from becoming a dull environment. During your actual ocular inspection of that site, what do you have in mind that would largely improve the existing conditions of architecture there @marcosmilano71?

Before answering your question, I want to make a comment, yesterday, when my beloved wife and my beloved son visited the headquarters of the College of Engineers of Venezuela, when asking for the requirements to join, the person who attended them asked them: To leave the country? my wife and son were silent. Friend, I confess that the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is not going through the best time, many professionals and technicians have left the country fleeing from the communist plague, this migration has brought dire consequences for the country. You ask me: what do you have in mind that would greatly improve the existing conditions of architecture there marcosmilano71? Everything must be improved because the structures deteriorate over time, but Venezuela already has four (4) years with a mega hyperinflation and 23 years of a retrograde system, which has impoverished the Nation. I have tried to expose here, in this community, the beauty, the beauty of the architecture of the Country, but the truth is that every day the quality of life of the Venezuelan is declining. Sorry for being so sincere but today it is difficult to maintain the spaces. Receive a strong spiritual hug full of blessings, positive energy and lots of light.
NOTE: In honor of the truth, the Caracas headquarters of the College of Engineers is quite clean and preserved, the spaces look cozy even in this mega crisis that we are experiencing.
Oh, I see. I'm sorry to hear that. When the root cause of the problem concerns the national leadership, all the other sectors of society namely its infrastructure, manpower, culture, architecture, etc. would surely feel the pain of its domino effects.
Most importantly, talking about politics is an extremely sensitive issue - the same goes with religion and sex. On a positive note, all I can say now is I hope your government would prioritize, incentivize, and take care of its citizens well for a more prosperous future. And that, of course, must include the nurturing of its built environments. Have a healthy and productive week friend!

Me estoy graduando de médico cirujano y aqui en nuestra sede de la Universidad de Carabobo no tenemos espacios tan bonitos, me alegra que tengan lugares asi de acogedores y que ustedes los mantengan en buen estado.
