The Art Of Thread Printing - [4]
Hi guys!
Today we did the rope printing again with my little girl. My daughter made our thread print on white paper and I on black paper. I was thinking of doing one day a week. Today I did not get the result I wanted, so I had to try several times. So it was a bit of a hassle. I need to rethink the idea of doing a thread print once a week. :)
Thread printing is an art usually done on white paper. I tried this on black paper. Sometimes I have had very good results. Sometimes it didn't.
Actually, I tried a different method today. I wanted to use both thin and thick yarn at the same time. But as I said at the beginning, I couldn't get the result I wanted. It's really frustrating to work for a long time and not get the results you want.
Materials I used:
1 - Black Notebook
2 - Thread
3 - Watercolor
4 - Water
5 - Brush
First of all, we dye the rope in different colors. We put the yarn we dyed between the notebook and close the notebook and pull the yarn through it. We open the notebook and see the result.
A fun and enjoyable activity where you can take your children away from their phones and tablets and have a good time together. I did this work with my little daughter. I hope you like it.
Thank you for visiting my blog. I wish everyone a healthy and happy day. Good bye.

Yes, it was an activity we did on white paper in grade school. I also remember making potato and leaf prints.:)

Wow: this is really beautiful, @maonx ! What a brilliant exploration of colour and creativity to share with a child... It reminds me of wax crayon etching, when I was very young; at school we'd fill a page with all different colours in crayon, then paint over it with a thick layer of black gouache paint... Wait for it to dry, then scratch into it with a needle or stick or something - it's always so powerful to see an image show up on black... or from under black, too :-) Happy Creating!
Hello Claire.
Yes, I remember the technique you mentioned. I thought about using this technique for a while. I even watched a few videos on how to do it. But I haven't had a chance to do it yet. It's a technique that kids will enjoy doing. Maybe we'll try to do it one day with my little girl :)
I love working on the color black. It adds a different air to the drawing.
Thank you very much for your visit and kind words. I'm so glad you liked it.🌸
