Luna | The Inner Flare

Hello my dear people, happy Friday for all who read me here and welcome to one more of my little drawings; today I want to share with you a work with a theme of elements of nature and it is about a kind of girl with the special ability to generate fire from the palm of her hands. This is a character that I decided to call Luna, and it is a young girl who is just learning about the amazing and dangerous ability she has; I decided to create this drawing because in recent months I have been practicing the painting of natural elements, including fire and here I wanted to try a new technique of lighting the flames that I hope you like it very much:

Hola mi querida gente, feliz viernes para todos los que por aquí me leen y sean bienvenidos a uno mas de mis dibujillos; el día de hoy les quiero compartir una obra con temática de elementos de la naturaleza y se trata de una especie de chica con la habilidad especial de generar fuego desde la palma de sus manos. Este es un personaje que decidí llamar Luna, y se trata de una joven chica cual apenas se esta enterando de la asombrosa y peligrosa habilidad que posee; me anime a crear este dibujo pues en los últimos meses he estado practicando el pintado de los elementos naturales, incluido el fuego y aquí quería probar una nueva técnica de iluminación de las llamas que espero les guste mucho:

PROCESS / PROCESO

The main idea for my drawing was to create a character that was in direct interaction with the fire element, I tried several structures and sketches until I finally decided to create this character of Luna with an adolescent appearance; with long hair and very loose and casual clothes. For the painting of the character I decided to use quite opaque tones, the skin I wanted to give a tanned or slightly tanned appearance; with the clothes I tried to capture contrasting tones and therefore I used a very dark gray and a soft sandy white.

La idea principal para mi dibujo fue crear un personaje que estuviera en interacción directa con el elemento fuego, probe varias estructuras y bocetos hasta que finalmente decidí crear a este personaje de Luna con una apariencia adolescente; con cabello largo y con ropa muy holgada y casual. Para el pintado del personaje me decidí por tonos bastante opacos, a la piel quise darle una apariencia morena o ligeramente bronceada; con la ropa trate de plasmar tonos contrastantes y por ello use un gris muy oscuro y un blanco arenoso suave.

The first thing I did after having the bases of each section was to detail each one separately, first I carefully worked the skin and added airbrush strokes to build a little relief on the face and palm of the hand; then with a much more defined brush I created depth lines and some shadows of occlusion to give a better realism to Luna's skin, along with small glitters. Then I created some touches of blush with the airbrush that I later blurred, then I continued with the eyes and here I played a little with the yellow tones; I painted the inner iris with soft yellows and little by little I went climbing towards brighter tones and detailing with fine brushes the inner strands of the eye.

Lo primero que hice luego de tener las bases de cada sección fue irlas detallando cada una por separado, primero trabaje cuidadosamente la piel y agregue brochazos con aerógrafo para construir un poco de relieve en la cara y la palma de la mano; luego con un pincel mucho mas definido fue creando líneas de profundidad y algunas sombras de oclusión para darle un mejor realismo a la piel de Luna, junto con pequeños brillos. Luego fui creando algunos toques de rubor con el aerógrafo que posteriormente difumine, después continúe con los ojos y aquí si jugué un poco con las tonalidades amarillas; pinte el iris interno con amarillos suaves y poco a poco fui escalando hacia tonos mas brillantes y detalle con pinceles finos las hebras internas del ojo.

The painting of the clothes was easy, I just created a little diffuse texture on the sweater at the bottom, and then I did the same with the dark part but with a slightly rougher brush to make a slight difference; I tried to create a slightly worn cotton texture on the clothes. Then I continued with the hair, here I only used a shade of color; I worked with the brown tones from the lightest to the darkest to make the hair look as good as possible.

El pintado de la ropa fue algo fácil, solo me dedique a crear un poco de textura difusa en el suéter de la parte de abajo, y luego hice lo mismo con la parte oscura pero con un pincel un poco mas rugoso para que se notara una ligera diferencia; trate de crear en la ropa una textura como de algodón un poco desgastada. Luego seguí con el pelo, aquí solo me dedique a usar un matiz de color; trabaje con los tonos marrones de los mas claro a lo mas oscuro para que el cabello se viera lo mejor posible.

Finally we arrived to the last part of my work, the part in which I would work the main element of my drawing, as I left I have practiced a lot the creation of elements of nature, and fire is what I am putting more effort; I worked each section of the flame with patience and in a specific layer. First I painted the origin of the flame and then I erased some circles around it to give it shape, then I was painting the glows of the inner part with light colors like yellow with very thin strokes; finally I created some heat waves to give the fire that appearance of incandescent heat and for this I helped me a little of the layer modes (Shine and Light) respectively, and with this I got that illumination that I was looking for from the beginning.

Finalmente llegamos a la ultima parte de mi obra, la parte en la que trabajaría el elemento principal de mi dibujo, como les deje he practicado mucho la creación de elementos de la naturaleza, y es fuego es a lo que mas empeño le estoy poniendo; trabaje cada sección de la llama con paciencia y en una capa especifica. Primero pinte el origen de la flama y luego borre algunos círculos alrededor para dale forma, luego fui pintando los brillos de la parte interna con colore claros como el amarillo con trazos muy delgado; finalmente crear algunas ondas de calor para darle al fuego esa apariencia de calor incandescente y para esto me ayude un poco de los modos de capa (Shine y Light) respectivamente, y con ello conseguir esa iluminación que buscaba desde un comienzo.
