"Christmas of Art" The most awaited gift of the year | "Navidad De Arte" El regalo mas esperado del año [ENG][ESP]

Hello my dear artist people, happy Thursday to all and welcome once again to my art blog, today I want to present a Christmas style work that I made to join the dynamics of the #HIVEARTE community in which we were invited to make a drawing related to the Christmas theme; this was very cool because I had planned to make 1 or 2 drawings during this month and this seemed the perfect opportunity to share them. I focused on creating a drawing about Santa Claus, Santa Claus or Baby Jesus as we know him in my country, which as everyone knows is in charge of delivering gifts to those who behave very well throughout the year; the most iconic figure of these dates so to speak.

Hola mi querida gente artista, feliz jueves para todos y sean bienvenidos una vez mas a mi blog de arte, el día de hoy les quiero presentar una obra al estilo navideño que realice para sumarme a la dinámica de la comunidad de #HIVEARTE en la cual nos invitaban a realizar un dibujo relacionado con el tema navideño; esto fue muy genial pues tenía pensado realizar 1 o 2 dibujos durante este mes y este me pareció la ocasión perfecta para compartirlos. Yo me centre en crear un dibujo sobre Santa Claus, Papa Noel o Niño Jesús como lo conocemos en mi país, el cual como todos saben es el encargado de entregar los regalos a quienes se portan muy bien durante todo el año; la figura más icónica de estas fechas por así decirlo.

PROCESS / PROCESO

First of all, I focused on creating Santa Claus in my own style of drawing, in a way as if he was about to leave on his busiest night of the year, I decided to create the sketch of him with pure imagination and as I remembered him from when I was little; with a long beard, with a somewhat sturdy build and always with a big bag of gifts. The colors to paint my drawing were not difficult to find, I used many tones from my usual color palette for the skin; for the red suit I used a tone that I usually use for painting flowers, apples and the like in many of my drawings.

Primero que nada, me enfoqué en crear a Santa Claus muy a mi estilo de dibujo propio, de una forma como si estuviese a punto de partir en su noche más ajetreada del año, decidí crear el boceto de el a pura imaginación y como yo lo recordaba desde cuando era pequeño; con una larga barba, con una contextura algo robusta y siempre con un gran saco de regalos. Los colores para pintar mi dibujo no fueron difíciles de encontrar, use muchos tonos de mi paleta de colores de siempre para la piel; para el traje rojo use un tono que acostumbro a usar para el pintado de flores, manzanas y cosas por el estilo en muchos de mis dibujos.

With the base of all the sections ready the next step was to work on those color bases, for the skin for example I started to create some volume and realistic texture with some wrinkles on the eyelids, cheekbones and around the nose; I added a lot of glitter to make the wrinkles of age look much more realistic. Then I decided to give the eyes a light blue tone, I tried several other colors, but this one seemed to me to be the one that best combined; especially with the slightly reddish colors that I would use later for the beard to give it a very unique touch.

Con la base de todas las secciones lista el siguiente paso fue trabajar sobre esas bases de color, para la piel por ejemplo comencé a crear un poco de volumen y textura realista con ciertas arrugas en los parpados, pómulos y alrededor de la nariz; agregué muchos brillos para que las arrugas de la edad se vieran mucho mas realistas. Después a los ojos me decidí por darles una tonalidad azul celeste, probé varios colores más, pero este me pareció que era el que mejor le combinaba; sobre todo con los colores ligeramente rojizos que usaría mas adelante para la barba para darle un toque muy unico.

The next step was the painting of the Christmas suit, this is perhaps the most striking feature or that we most associate when we think of Santa Claus, that's why I took my time and worked it very very well; I was first of all giving shape to the suit with some folds in the sleeves and areas of the abdomen of the character. After finishing with the details of realism as wrinkles and others in red tone, the next thing I did was to create the area of the sleeves and the hat that are made as a very plush material; for this I used several brushes with rough textures and one with a texture like palm leaves to get that shape more or less as I wanted.

El siguiente paso fue el del pintado del traje navideño, esta quizás es la característica más llamativa o que mas asociamos cuando Pensamos en Santa Claus, es por ello que me tome mi tiempo y la trabaje muy muy bien; fui primero que nada dándole forma al traje con algunos pliegues en las mangas y las zonas del abdomen del personaje. Luego de terminar con los detalles de realismo como arrugas y demás en tonalidad roja, lo siguiente que hice fue crear la zona de las mangas y el gorro que están hechas como de un material muy afelpado; para esto usé varios pinceles con texturas rugosas y uno con una textura como de hojas de palmera para poder conseguir esa forma mas o menos como yo deseaba.

Finally I just painted the bottomless bag where Santa Claus will carry his gifts for all the children who have behaved very well, for this I just tried to create the bag with a texture very similar to leather, but at the same time not too rigid; I also painted the gloves and glasses that for some reason I had forgotten to include in the original sketch hehehehehe, but at least I realized in time XD. In the end I just painted in the background a blue and cold Christmas night covered with stars, night like the ones I remember looking at when I was just a little kid waiting for my Christmas presents hehehehehe.

Ya por último solo me dedique a realizar el pintado del saco sin fondo donde Santa Claus llevara sus regalos para todos los niños que se han portado muy bien, para esto solo trate de crear el saco con una textura muy similar al cuero, pero que al mismo tiempo no se viera muy rígida; también pinte los guantes y los anteojos que por alguna razón había olvidado de incluir en el boceto original jejejeje, pero al menos me di cuenta a tiempo XD. Al final solo me dedique a pintar en le fondo una noche azul y fría de navidad cubierta de estrellas, noche como las que recuerdo que miraba cuando yo era solo un pequeño niño y esperaba por mis regalos de navidad jejejej.
