Hopefully my flat is sold soon and I can move on - it's been too long

I'm back after having put all of my time and energy into my flat over the last month or so. But now I need a break. I have sold flats before but this one requires more work. And to be honest, it's not more than fair. I bought it in 2013 and I haven't really done any improvements since. In a way, I left it in 2016 when I left Sweden and rented it out for 4 years. But of course, my flat is still my responsibility and I'm reminded of that daily now.

But pictures were taken a couple of weeks ago and in my mind I kind of thought that was the big 'thing' to tick off. But then I realized it's better if I fix a few things in my flat before putting it on the market. So I have had my washing machine repaired (a few functions weren't working), next week a plumber will come and fix some minor issues, an electrician and painter have been here earlier, and so on.

What gives me a headache though is an issue with the ventilation. I don't want to get into too many details here but worst case I might have to remove some parts of the kitchen. I think it's rather unfair since the kitchen has looked like that since 2008 and is also the thing that a buyer most likely would like to replace. I just don't have the energy to install a new kitchen. But if I have to remove some parts of it due to the ventilation issue, I might as well renovate the whole kitchen. Even though I just want to sell as soon as possible.

Needless to say, this whole project of selling my flat is on my mind a lot. And since I work from home and spend a lot of time there, I'm constantly reminded.

But the plan is actually to put the flat on the market this Friday, with planned viewings about 10 days later. And I'll just pray that the remaining issues have been sorted by then.

The last thing I'll say about this process is that I'm not so happy with my realtor so far. But hopefully she steps up soon.

From a nice walk last week. My close surroundings.

Since an extended weekend is coming up I'm actually on a train now and I'll spend the rest of the week at my mom's. I'm looking forward to spending some time in nature and to get away from my flat and all the construction work that is going on around it.

I have also started to make some plans for the summer. I have booked a flight to Faro, Portugal in late June. I was so happy to search for flights again. It felt like it's been forever since I did that. I'll probably spend 2-3 weeks in Portugal this summer. I think I'll attend a dance celebration retreat. Just dance for 4 full days. It'll be hot of course but I really feel like moving my body. Yoga retreats are nice of course but at the moment I feel more drawn to something more energetic.

Let's see what happens. If my flat is sold before I leave for Portugal I'll probably move out and leave Stockholm for good in August. If not, I'll put it on the market again in August and then probably move out in October. Either way, I can't wait.

I'll miss my belly dance teacher, she is amazing. But I can continue to take classes with her online. And depending on where I'll end up, I might find another belly dance shool. If I move back to Berlin I'll for sure.

I guess this was just a general update on what's going on in my life. I hope to post something from my mom's. It's so nice outside now. I work tomorrow but then I have 5 days off 🙂
