One of the things that scared me the most when I arrived in this city surrounded by train lines was the very remote possibility of having an accident while crossing one of the pedestrian crossings.
In fact, on a couple of occasions, I did stumble upon the metal structures on the ground and fall, but obviously without the danger of being run over.
In these areas, security is much higher, for the well-being of pedestrians, since not only are barriers set up to prevent cars from passing, but also railings are in place to prevent people from crossing at the exact moment when a train is arriving or departing from the platform.
Moreover, from the booth located at the same level as the platform but further away, there is operational personnel signaling to the train conductor with a green flag that the area is clear for passage, and they also have whistles to get the attention of people who want to cross.
It might seem like this is normal, and well, it is, but many people, just because it's always been there, see it as something simple to highlight, when in reality, accidents due to carelessness are avoided thanks to this.
Just recently, I read a post here on hive about a guy who, after taking off his shoes, committed suicide by jumping onto the train tracks. So, the topic of safety is not something we can overlook; otherwise, we should be alert to dangerous situations we may face.
On more than one occasion, I have witnessed the recklessness of some who, to save a few seconds, run to cross when the desperate whistles are sounding relentlessly, and it's hard to determine what they were thinking by risking themselves in such a way!
When everything indicates that the train is approaching, we must make a mandatory stop, follow the safety rules, and even if we arrive a little late at our destination, have the certainty that we will arrive.
With all this equipment in place, the excuse "I didn't realize" can hardly be used, as everything is perfectly set up so that even those with disabilities are alerted and do not cross the barriers that protect them from a possible catastrophe.
Una de las cosas que mas temor me daba cuando llegué a esta ciudad rodeada de líneas de trenes, era la posibilidad muy remota de tener un accidente mientras cruzaba alguna de las vías que tienen paso de peatones.
De hecho, en un par de oportunidades llegué a tropezar con las estructuras metálicas que están en el piso y caer, pero obviamente, sin el peligro de ser arrollada.
Y es que en estas zonas, la seguridad es mucho mayor, por el bien de los transeuntes, ya que están dispuestas no solo las barreras para evitar el paso de los autos, sino también barandas que hacen lo propio para evitar el paso de las personas en el momento justo cuando un tren va a llegar o salir del andén.
Por si fuera poco, de la casilla que se ubica al mismo nivel del andén, pero más retirado, está el personal operativo que indica al conductor del tren con un banderín verde que la zona está libre para el paso, así como también cuentan con silbatos para llamar la atención de las personas que desean pasar.
Quizás parezca que esto es lo normal, y pues lo es, pero muchas personas por el mismo hecho de que es algo que siempre ha estado ahí, lo ven como algo simple de destacar, cuando la realidad es que gracias a esto se evitan accidentes producto del descuido.
Justo en días pasados leía una publicación acá en hive, de un chico que luego de sacarse los zapatos, se suicidó lanzándose a las vías del tren. Así que el tema de la seguridad no es algo que podemos pasar por alto, en caso contrario, debemos estar atentos ante situaciones de peligro que podamos enfrentar.
En más de una ocasión he visto la imprudencia de algunos que por ahorrarse unos segundos, corren a cruzar cuando ya los silbatos desesperados suenan sin cesar, y es difícil determinar en qué estaban pensando al arriesgarse de tal manera!
Cuando todo indica que el tren viene llegando, debemos hacer una parada obligada, seguir las normas de seguridad y aunque lleguemos un poco tarde a nuestro destino, tener la certeza de que llegaremos.
Con todo este aparataje, dificilmente la excusa puede ser "Es que no me di cuenta", ya que todo está perfectamente realizado para que inclusive aquellos que tengan alguna discapacidad, sean alertados y no pasen las barreras que los resguardan de una posible catástrofe.

Mas vale perder un minuto a perder la vida. Fijate que yo no sabía que Argentina tenia tantas lineas de trenes. Gracias a ti, es que descubrí eso.
Yo pienso igual, pero muchos parece que andan tan pendientes del reloj que no miran las consecuencias de lo que pudiera pasar por andar tan apurados.
Argentina tiene tantas cosas que afuera del país no se saben (como en todas partes) que es lindo poderlas compartir para hacerlas del conocimiento de todos.
