The Potentials Of DEXes and DeFi projects in the growing cryptocurrency ecosystem

The value of decentralized exchanges cannot be stressed enough, I mean, when you look at the growth this far in the system, it really is a great sight to behold. Although when we talk about DEXes, more attention is given to protocols like Uniswap and Pancakeswap, but it is only understandable on the notes that these decentralized applications are built on the two most popular smart contracts blockchains, Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain.

In some old Interview of him by Bankless on Youtube, if I can recall clearly, CZ was made to answer a question on where Binance as a centralized exchange will be headed as crypto expands and build towards decentralizing, his responds quite frankly acknowledged that DEXes have the potential to replace centralized exchanges but that the current framework of things requires heavy involvement of "regulated exchanges" as people would like to call it when in reality only Coinbase seems to fit into the category of a fully regulated crypto exchange.

What Role Does Decentralized Exchanges Play?

This is like asking what role a bank plays in the growing field of business and finance, although we could always narrow down to a few points like accepting deposits, savings and all that, but reality is that it goes way deeper and this is why I've always viewed decentralized finance as the alternative technology that will create wide stability and sustainability in the cryptocurrency space.
