Misinformation On Investopedia and The Long Term Purpose Of icoverage
When it comes to creating content, misinformation is something that not many can do away with, given that most just spend little time on research and just redistribute what has already been over-published by numerous platforms.
When you search "What Is Hive Blockchain" on Google, you will see more results about the mining company - Hive Blockchain Ltd, but this isn't always what people seek when searching. When I was new on Hive, I oftentimes believed there was a connection between the two, trust me, I even signed up for their newsletter and I still receive emails from them, it was at some point when several coverages on it expanding it's mining arms that led to the discovery that it was actually a totally different company to the Hive blockchain am a part of. We see similar brand battles with LeoFinance LEO tokens with which there are a couple other tokens bearing the same name.
The effects of this is that most times, when researchers are compiling data, one could be mistaken for the other, of which, in the case of Investopedia, this happened and it's quite sad.
What Is Splinterlands
That was my search query on Google and I discovered Investopedia had an article written for it already, which means tough competition for icoverage and also a good thing for the gaming ecosystem on Hive. But then, it wasn't quite long when a thought flashed through my mind and I decided to scheme through the article.
You see, we all are aware that most of the time, people don't just want to give credit to Hive, weirdly. If you read through the article, you'll realize Bitcoin, Ethereum and even Wax Blockchain is mentioned first, even before the network this game is actually built on. And when I scrolled endlessly looking, I finally found the keyword "Hive" at the bottom but wait, that isn't the decentralized Hive blockchain but the mining company.
Both hive engine and Splinterlands have been attributed to the mining company in this article and that goes to show why we almost never get heard or seen, too much misinformation!
Here's where icoverage comes in
So far, Hive Blog happens to be our best performing content when looking at search engine ranking, for internal user interest, the competition is rather spread. That said, it is necessary to have more platforms like icoverage out there for the benefit of hive. Leo Glossary will serve as one of those great resources and I will be personally looking to leverage it for cross linking where necessary on icoverage.
The purpose of icoverage is to draw more attention to unseen projects, with Hive as the biggest example currently. So far, internal interest on Hive-based contents seem to be on the rise as our POSH TOKEN coverage happens to be one of the best performing and we've been leveraging paid advertising to draw traffic to our website and so far, it's more beneficial to the project's featured on icoverage and that's a win on our side.
