HELLO EVERYONE,
I hope you guys are doing great. I'll share a book review. The book's name is MAYBE SOMEDAY by COLLEEN HOOVER. Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover chronicles the turbulent relationship between Sydney Blake and Ridge Lawson. Published in 2014, Maybe Someday is the first book in the Maybe Someday series, which features three books.

Maybe Someday is the kind of book that you read for several consecutive hours and walk around the house with it, firmly attached to your hand. I finished this book the same day I bought it and only put it down for food intervals! Maybe Someday is a dual narrative story from the perspective of 22 years old Sydney, a musically talented, fun-loving girl who seemingly has the perfect life until she discovers her boyfriend has been sleeping with her best friend/roommate leaving her devastated and alone, with nowhere to go other than the arms of the other narrator, a sexy musician named Ridge. Sydney first discovered Ridge playing the guitar on his balcony, and she became enchanted by his music. Ridge sees her singing her made up lyrics to his songs, and a bond instantly forms, they begin to write music together and it doesn't take long for their connection to go further than just music.

A prologue details the aftermath of Sydney Blake’s discovery of her boyfriend Hunter’s affair with her roommate Tori. Outside in the rain, Sydney struggles to decide where to go after she flees her apartment. She reluctantly agrees to her neighbor Ridge’s invitation to stay in his apartment despite her anger over Ridge’s delay in exposing the affair to her.

Two weeks earlier, Sydney listens to Ridge playing guitar from across their apartment courtyard. Experiencing writer’s block, Ridge asks Sydney for her number and requests she share the lyrics he witnessed her mouthing to his song from her balcony. Self-conscious, Sydney hesitates before sending her lyrics over. Impressed, Ridge shares her lyrics with his younger brother Brennan, the lead singer of their band Sounds of Cedar, and they agree to employ Sydney as a songwriter. Aware of Hunter and Tori’s affair, Ridge decides not to tell Sydney the truth.

Prepare for an emotional rollercoaster, this book made me laugh so much, and I spent at least an hour manically ugly crying. The thing that I love about this story is how completely selfless and good both the characters are, I honestly cannot fault either one and that is a very rare thing! Ridge and Sydney have an instant connection but they have to fight it for the sake of Maggie, Ridge's girlfriend of 5 years, and although I was rooting for Sydney from the start there is something so beautiful about Maggie that it is just impossible not to love her too and trust me, it leaves you so conflicted that you want to scream half the time because you just can't see a way out.

By far the best thing about this book is that throughout its Sydney and Ridge write these amazing songs THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY LISTEN TO. Yes, that's right this book has a soundtrack. The songs are seriously fantastic I could listen to the soundtrack on repeat, I just find it so great that you can be listening to the songs coming to life as you are reading! Sydney is fearful, even before meeting Ridge, that her relationship with Hunter is not as perfect as it seems. This quote represents Sydney's apprehension at settling down with Hunter and committing to somebody so early on in her life while she is still young. She does not have confidence that Hunter is the right person for her, but she also has not experienced any strong desire to break up with him yet.

Maybe Someday was utterly unique and refreshingly original. I honestly do not have a single other book to compare it to, nor have I ever read a plot line even similar to this one. Everything from the way the characters met to the twists and reveals all took me by surprise and kept me guessing the whole way through.

Do I recommend this book? Well, you can give it a try.
Did I like this book? Yes, I did.
I'll rate this book a 8/10.

THANK YOU EVERYONE, FOR YOUR PRECIOUS TIME. IT MEANS A LOT. LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS.
