Yesterday as a family we enjoyed the carnival parade that I like the most, the FUNCATBAR 2023 parade (Foundation of the Tourist Carnivals of Las Barrancas) and it is in that little town of Las Barrancas that I was born and grew up I raised It is a very small town from which I keep beautiful memories, how those carnivals where the floats were nothing more than decorated construction trucks and everyone dressed up in old clothes and funny wigs. Everything has improved over time and of course they are better now, so like every year we went to enjoy the carnival.

The first thing I did was walk through its little streets and stop in front of this house that was where I lived for the first 12 years of my life. I remember it white with blue, but it's still intact. I took the opportunity to tell my daughters how I played in those days, how I escaped through those windows before they had bars and I took this photo for our memory. I love it, I went back in time and came back with two daughters just like me 😍 We kept walking to find a good place to sit and where we could see the whole parade.

We were located two blocks from my old house, the place remains intact so it was good to say hello to one or another neighbor while the parade began. We brought our chairs, a wine cellar with drinks and that's it, there we would meet my brother and his family but he arrived late and couldn't park, the parade started at 5 and we arrived 1 hour before so we could pass and find a place. Marcela and Miranda jumped with each song hahaha.

The first float is that of this year's queen Eileen I, who, to complete, is the daughter of a childhood friend of mine. She was extremely beautiful, her suit, everything was very precious and her float was like an icy fantasy with snowflakes very much in the Frozen style.

At first the floats went one after the other and the parade moved fast, I loved this float because everything looked very well elaborated. It was a kind of Roman fantasy, all the girls are cousins ​​and their parents were pushing and helping so I loved that it was a family project and that everyone was together enjoying their participation in the parade.

For a long time Marcela, Miranda and their cousin Rafael were bored and anxious because the parade got stuck for some reason, but we could see a Samba group and another Banda Show that were entertaining the parade . The photos didn't look so good at night but I was able to capture some to show you the most beautiful floats for me.

This float made a big impression on me because its main figure is a transgender boy I've known since he was a little boy and I could tell he's finally had some operations and his transition is going smoothly. In carnivals it is natural to see men dressed as women but this touched me because I saw how he suffered as a boy wanting to be a girl. He looked very happy. Bravo!

There were other floats that caught my attention for their beauty and their good work, others stole the looks for carrying many children, the truth is that the parade was made very pleasant by the variety that had. This carnival parade is sponsored by the Mayor of the Díaz Municipality, there is a platform with judges where the parade begins and that it is the same place of arrival, I know that 3 winners are chosen for the floats and 3 for the comparsas, and that the minimum prize it's $800.

My brother arrived with his family and we shared a pleasant and different time as a family, the girls wanted to dress up but the truth is they don't have any costumes and that's not why they stopped smiling. After the parade of the floats the place became a street party with many cars with impressive sounds, lights and everything seemed like a spectacular car show. The joy of the people was noticeable and I met several friends that I had not seen for a long time like my friend Carlos who is a decorator and was in charge of decorating my wedding, Marcela's baby shower and her first birthday, it is a very special friend to me.

The parade ended around 8 pm and we stayed until almost 11 pm enjoying the atmosphere, the music and those fun conversations between friends and family. Jokes, laughter, jokes and the night flew by. We went home happy to be able to enjoy with our special people these moments that leave beautiful memories for us and my daughters. Ayer disfrutamos en familia del desfile de carnaval que más me gusta, el desfile de FUNCATBAR 2023 (Fundación de los Carnavales Turísticos de Las Barrancas) y es que en ese pueblito de las Barrancas nací y me crié. Es un pueblo muy pequeño del que guardo hermosos recuerdos, cómo aquellos carnavales dónde las carrozas no eran más que carretillas de construcción decoradas y todos se disfrazaban con ropa vieja y pelucas divertidas. Todo ha mejorado con el pasar del tiempo y por supuesto ahora son mejores, así que como todos los años nos fuimos a disfrutar del carnaval.

Lo primero que hice fue caminar por sus callecitas y hacer una parada frente a esta casa que fue donde viví mis primeros 12 años de vida. La recuerdo de color blanco con azul, pero sigue intacta. Aproveché para contarles a mis hijas como jugaba en esos días, cómo me escapaba por esas ventanas antes de tener rejas y les tomé esta foto para nuestro recuerdo. Me encanta, volví en el tiempo y regresé con dos hijas igualitas a mi 😍 Seguimos caminando para encontrar un buen lugar donde sentarnos y dónde pudiéramos ver todo el desfile.

Nos ubicamos a dos cuadras de mi antigua casa, el lugar se mantiene intacto así que fue bueno saludar a uno que otro vecino mientras empezaba el desfile. Llevamos nuestras sillas, una cava con bebidas y listo, ahí nos encontraríamos con mi hermano y su familia pero llegó tarde y no podía estacionarse, el desfile comenzó a las 5 y nosotros llegamos 1 hora antes para poder pasar y encontrar un lugar. Marcela y Miranda saltaban con cada música jajaja.

La primera carroza es la de la reina de este año Eileen I, quien para completar, es la hija de una amiga de mi infancia. Estaba sumamente hermosa, su traje, todo estaba muy precioso y su carroza era como una fantasía helada con copos de nieve muy al estilo Frozen.

Al principio las carrozas iban una detrás de la otra y el desfile se movía rápido, esta carroza me encantó porque todo se veía muy bien elaborado. Era una especie de fantasía romana, todas las niñas son primas y sus papás iban empujando y ayudando así que me encantó que fuese un proyecto familiar y que todos iban juntos disfrutando de su participación en el desfile.

Por un buen rato Marcela, Miranda y el primito Rafael estaban aburridos y ansiosos porque el desfile se estancó por alguna razón, pero pudimos ver un grupo de Samba y otra Banda Show que iban amenizando el desfile. Ya de noche las fotos no se veían tan bien pero pude capturar algunas para mostrarles las carrozas más bonitas para mí.

Esta carroza me causó mucha impresión porque su figura principal es un muchacho transgénero que conozco desde que era un niño pequeño y pude notar que finalmente se realizó algunas operaciones y que su transición va viento en popa. En los carnavales es natural ver hombres vestidos de mujeres pero esta me tocó porque ví como sufría siendo un niño queriendo ser una niña. Se veía muy feliz. Bravo!

Hubo otras carrozas que llamaron mi atención por su belleza y por su buen trabajo, otras se robaban las miradas por llevar muchos niños, lo cierto es que el desfile se hizo muy agradable por la variedad que tenía. Este desfile de carnaval es patrocinado por la Alcaldía del Municipio Díaz, hay una tarima con jueces dónde comienza el desfile y q es el mismo lugar de llegada, sé que se eligen 3 ganadores para las carrozas y 3 para las comparsas, y que el mínimo premio es de 800$.

Mi hermano llegó con su familia y compartimos en familia un rato agradable y diferente, las niñas querían disfrazarse pero la verdad no tienen ningún disfraz y no por eso dejaron de sonreír. Después del desfile de las carrozas el lugar se volvió una fiesta callejera con muchos carros con sonidos impresionantes, luces y todo parecía una exhibición de carros espectaculares. Se le notaba la alegría a la gente y me encontré con varios amigos que hace tiempo no veía como a mi amigo Carlos quién es decorador y fue el encargado de la decoración de mi matrimonio, el baby shower se Marcela y su primer cumpleaños, es un amigo muy especial para mí.

El desfile terminó como a las 8 pm y nos quedamos casi hasta las 11 pm disfrutando del ambiente, la música y de esas conversaciones divertidas entre amigos y familia. Bromas, risas, chistes y la noche pasó volando. Nos fuimos a casa contentos de poder disfrutar con nuestras personas especiales estos momentos que nos dejan hermosos recuerdos en nosotros y en mis hijas.
