Accompany me to discover the Bay of Juangriego

Ayer por la mañana salimos de casa con intenciones de hacer algunas diligencias y unas compras, estuvimos cerca de Juangriego así que hicimos un stop para caminar por la Bahía de Juangriego y tomar una lindas fotos para todos ustedes. Juangriego es una de las ciudades más bonitas de Margarita, Venezuela, es conocida por sus paisajes, por sus monumentos históricos, por su pesca, por sus atardeceres y por ser una zona comercial muy diversa.

Yesterday morning we left home with the intention of doing some errands and shopping, we were near Juangriego so we made a stop to walk around the Juangriego Bay and take some nice photos for everyone your. Juangriego is one of the most beautiful cities in Margarita, Venezuela, it is known for its landscapes, for its historical monuments, for its fishing, for its sunsets and for being a very diverse commercial area.

Al llegar a Juangriego encuentras su plaza principal, es un área llena de árboles y bancos para que muchos se sienten a su sombra frente al mar. Es un lugar bastante agradable y me sorprendió ver qué lo mantienen muy limpio, todo en su lugar. Es un lugar muy bonito para tomarse fotos junto al nombre de la ciudad JUANGRIEGO, a mis hijas les encantó y estaban sorprendidas del tamaño de las letras 🤭

When you get to Juangriego you find its main square, it is an area full of trees and benches for many to sit in the shade facing the sea. It's quite a nice place and I was surprised to see how they keep it very clean, everything in its place. It is a very nice place to take photos next to the name of the city JUANGRIEGO, my daughters loved it and were surprised by the size of the letters 🤭

En la plaza hay un monumento al prócer de la Independencia Juan Bautista Arismendi, cuentan que es esta Bahía el libró la batalla que le dió la independencia a la Isla de Margarita. Es muy normal encontrar plazas y monumentos con los nombres de aquellos hombres y mujeres que lucharon por nuestra libertad y son parte de nuestra historia.

In the square there is a monument to the hero of Independence Juan Bautista Arismendi, they say that it is in this Bay that he fought the battle that gave independence to Margarita Island. It is very normal to find squares and monuments with the names of those men and women who fought for our freedom and are part of our history.

La pesca es la principal actividad económica de los pobladores de esta ciudad y los pueblos cercanos, es una tradición familiar. Podemos ver cómo salen de la bahía los botes a alta mar.

Fishing is the main economic activity of the residents of this city and nearby towns, it is a family tradition. We can see how boats leave the bay for the high seas.

La Bahía de Juangriego es un lugar muy bonito y muy visitado. Encontramos muchas palmeras a la orilla de la playa y un paseo en el que puedes caminar sintiendo la brisa del mar. Pocas playas en la Isla de Margarita tienen este acceso y la comodidad de sentarte cerca de la playa sin siquiera tocar la arena.

The Bay of Juangriego is a very beautiful and much visited place. We find many palm trees on the shore of the beach and a promenade where you can walk feeling the sea breeze. Few beaches on Margarita Island have this access and the comfort of sitting near the beach without even touching the sand.

A una calle de la Bahía encuentras tiendas de todo tipo, es decir, que puedes hacer tus compras y después hacer una pausa y descansar en esta zona. Particularmente recuerdo caminar todo Juangriego de la mano de mi mamá para hacer todas las compras escolares, de navidad, de cumpleaños o de lo que fuera. Esta ciudad está repleta de Turcos que son dueños de tiendas de ropa y calzado, perfumerías y bodegones por lo que era muy visitada por turistas por siempre tener los mejores precios. Mi país ha albergado a muchos migrantes de todas las nacionalidades.

One ​​street from the Bay you will find shops of all kinds, that is, you can do your shopping and then take a break and rest in this area. I particularly remember walking all over Juangriego hand in hand with my mom to do all the shopping for school, Christmas, birthdays or whatever. This city is full of Turks who own clothing and shoe stores, perfumeries and still lifes, so it was very visited by tourists for always having the best prices. My country has hosted many migrants of all nationalities.

Este ángulo del paseo me gustó mucho, una hermosa palmera y de fondo el mar y en la montaña un monumento histórico que se llama Fortín de la Galera al que pronto los voy a llevar para que conozcan más de mi increíble Isla de Margarita. A mis niñas les encanta subir hasta allá, es una aventura para ellas así que tenemos una cita.

I liked this angle of the walk a lot, a beautiful palm tree and the sea in the background and on the mountain a historical monument called Fortín de la Galera that I will soon take you to so you can see more of my amazing Isla de Margarita. My girls love to go up there, it's an adventure for them so we have a date.

Caminamos un poco más porque sinceramente yo tenía muchos años sin caminar por ahí, no recordaba lo grande que es y lo agradable que es estar ahí por la tarde. Cerca de la Bahía de Juangriego, además de tiendas, hay un hospital, supermercados, estación de policías, escuelas y un terminal de autobuses en el que puedes llegar y salir a casi todas partes de la Isla. Es un lugar bastante concurrido diariamente y uno de los centros de dónde hay más fuentes de trabajo.

We walked a little more because honestly I hadn't walked there in many years, I didn't remember how big it is and how nice it is to be there in the afternoon. Near Juangriego Bay, in addition to shops, there is a hospital, supermarkets, police station, schools and a bus terminal where you can get to and from almost all parts of the Island. It is a fairly busy place daily and one of the centers where there are more sources of work.

Este paseo también me hizo notar una cosa, las playas con toldos, restaurantes y servicios no siempre son las más bonitas. En esta playa había gente sin sillas sentadas en la arena o en piedras, comiendo algo que prepararon en casa, sin notar que había gente alrededor y saben que? Yo los veía felices, riendo, bailando, disfrutando, niños jugando, y todos divirtiéndose con lo poco que tienen. Creo que eso le da más belleza a la playa, porque la gente que está en ella la disfruta con todas sus ganas. No necesitamos mucho para ser felices, eso es verdad.

This walk also made me notice one thing, the beaches with canopies, restaurants and services are not always the most beautiful. On this beach there were people without chairs sitting on the sand or on stones, eating something they prepared at home, without noticing that there were people around and you know what? I saw them happy, laughing, dancing, enjoying themselves, children playing, and everyone having fun with the little they have. I think that makes the beach more beautiful, because the people who are on it enjoy it with all their heart. We don't need much to be happy, that's true.

Nos despedimos de este corto paseo familiar con una selfie, y con una sonrisa en el corazón. Agradezco cada día de mi vida la oportunidad de tenerlos conmigo, y de que sean mis compañeros de vida, aprendiendo y viviendo. We say goodbye to this short family outing with a selfie, and with a smile in our hearts.
