Doctor…

Me despido.

"In the end, everything is a joke."

Manuel woke up one day like any other. He drank the coffee his mother had made for him and went out to do his day's work. He had spent a stormy night with colic and diarrhea, he felt weak and dehydrated. He said to himself: I am going to go to an ambulatory, I feel very bad. The pains had not gone away, even though he had taken a citronella and star anise tea.

At noon he could no longer stand it, he asked for permission and went to the clinic. He could no longer stand the pain.

He sat down to wait his turn and got into a conversation with some ladies who were there. When the doctor arrived, they told him "Vente mijo", and he followed them to the doctor's office. When he arrived, the nurse asked him how he was feeling.

He said, "I came this way..."

Another nurse told him, "They are going to do a physical exam. Manuel was a little puzzled because there was a specialist there to do an eye exam.

"Write Manuel down and close the list." Manual asked himself what list they were talking about.

When they were writing him down, he says to the nurse "I came this way..." the nurse continued talking to another colleague, without even looking up. She handed him the order for the tests.

Manuel, when you get the labs back, come back for the doctor to look at them."

"I came this way..." and the nurse replied "hurry up, there are many on the list."

Manuel headed for the lab, crestfallen because he felt bad with pain and was worried.

My God, what list could this be? What do I have?

He waited there for about three hours. They handed him the tests and he returned.

"I came this way..." and she dared to ask him about something for the pain.

"Pain! Do you have pain," the doctor gave him a painkiller with some water. Manuel took it without water, he stayed waiting for his turn. Within the hour the nurse called him and the Doctor gave him directions, an order and told him to be at a Hotel in the city with his companion at 3:00 in the afternoon.

Doctor... "I came this way...".

Hurry up, Mr. Manuel, don't let them leave you. I was on my way, where am I going?

What kind of trouble am I in for a stomach ache? Neither the doctor nor the nurse let me explain.

When he arrived home it was late and his family was worried because he was not answering his cell phone. When his mother came in she said "Manuel why are you so late?"

I just came from the outpatient clinic, they did several tests and I still don't get rid of the pain in my stomach." She began to tell him the story and handed him the orders.

When her mom reads, she says. "Let's pack our bags, we're going to Cuba to operate on your right eye for cataracts".
What?! Mom, I went to the wrong office.

"I came this way...".

This story is a true story, the main character wanted his name changed. Which I did, but my whole family knows who he is. His mother is my adored and unforgettable mommy, she was fascinated by traveling and brought back many anecdotes from that famous trip, later I will tell them to you.

Because of a mistake and a stomach ache, my brother was diagnosed with cataracts in his right eye and entered the Miracle Mission Program.

I hope you enjoyed this story and thank you very much for visiting my blog.

I bid you farewell.
