Coping with toxic Positivity that can be harmful to Mental Health

Being Positive is a very good attributes that one is meant to possess as a human in most prevailing situations, but, in some circumstances it’s just not genuine, but certainly it should be. The freedom which lies in expression of positivity and negativity when we feel them is very important to our wellbeing.
Possibly toxic positivity comes in when it has gone beyond its critical point then it would be tend to be called negativity.
But when this attributes is at such state, it becomes harmful but one fact is that it's not always conscious, hence anyone can be a victim of doing this with the best intentions of being positive.

Knowing when Positivity has progressed into the Negative state
We all know on a neutral ground, positivity is a very good attribute every human is meant to have in life inorder to progress without been an overthinker and also thereby making one focus solely on purpose.
There are cases in which lack of positivity is genuine and therefore it's a correct response.
When one receives a striking or disappointing news, it had been seen as both normal and it's expected that the one who receives such news be expected to react negatively hence the feelings.
In many ways it’s like toxic vigour because it deprives people from showing weakness that may make others uncomfortable. But it would encourage a state of denial – because those feelings will not disappear easily, they’ll only be hidden for a while but possibly may in turn create room for humiliation, anger, guilt and bitterness.

How to balance Positivity and Negativity

  1. Always know that all feelings are reasonable
    At some point, we can't really control our feelings and emotions but they can be worked upon over time which is dependent on our willingness to. Our feelings aren't really something that is chosen by us but this can be changed by first accepting the feelings that came in, then analysing the feelings would also help before finally processing it. With this, it's possible to balance either the feelings of Positivity or Negativity.
  2. See Negativity as a phase that certainly would be experienced but would still be conquered
    One thing we must note is that we need space to accommodate our bad feelings for a while depending the situation. Like assuming a case like the death of a love one😢, this will take a while before such person who had the loss can come back to his or her initial steady state but certainly sometimes the occurrence of negativity would still come in but it's advisable that for the sake of our mental health, we apply efforts to live a happy life again hence Positivity can really play a role here but this can be done only when Positivity is been embraced.
  3. Offering Kindness and Aid
    Rather than been scornful, offering words of encouragement and hope to others would really help. This is a very important sign that can help to fasten Positive Change.
    Situation is has the capacity to forcing us to live more simply, and possibly slowing down can be great for our mental health.
    But I had say If we can get through this, there's nothing we can't conquer irrespective of the challenges, we can get through anything life throws at us. One thing you must always do, look how far you’ve come already.
    You had surely scale through.
  4. Practicing Self-Care to the core
    While kindness and aid are great attributes, being around sustained negativity can be very draining, especially if it appears suddenly.
    Whenever you find yourself beginning to take on the negativity of others, it's possible the time to step away and take care of yourself for a while would be very necessary.
    Note, it's your responsibility to always ensure happiness and mental health as it's a prerequisite for long life.
    Choose Joy
    Granting this one might seem difficult but there’s something to it. There are a few tricks that can be played on to train your mindset to be more positive, I know because I’ve done it.
    (a) Spend time in nature – this will never fail to be to uplifting.
    (b) Always put on that beautiful Smile – it can trick you into being happy. It looks good on you dear
    (c) Adopting a healthy lifestyle including taking fruits, foods, exercising and sufficient sleep.
    (d) Reducing the time that is spent around negative people will help keep your sanity.
    (e) Treating yourself to be able to withstand and overcome negative thoughts because certainly it would come.
    With practice, it’s extremely possible to think yourself into being positive which will help you achieve your desired purpose and aim in Life. But have it in mind that you need to be ready for it, and hence understanding and experiencing your feelings first, even if they seem unpleasant.
