But it’s going against the flow of traffic.

My mom and I went to the wet market today and we decided to take a rickshaw to get to the supermarket. I generally don’t ride on them for a whole lot of reasons including safety but hey, I gotta live a little right? Thankfully nothing happened to us despite the rickshaw being against the flow of traffic and there were many speeding motorbikes.

Chinese New Year is coming this Sunday and where I live now, it's a celebrated event. Usually they happen in February but I think this is the first time I notice it’s happening in January. Some shops in the city are also selling CNY items and even meals. They also sell plumps, cakes, and mooncakes. I guess on Sunday it’ll be raining because there is a belief that during CNY it has to rain otherwise it’s not going to be a prosperous year. It’s always quite festive where I live, especially with the sizable Chinese population and descendants. So, if you celebrate it, Happy Chinese New Year!

Today I am visiting my dads again. I am going to help provide food whilst at the same time cleaning up the house. I noticed that to brighten the house, I need a powerful lamp and some strong cleaning supply with fresh smell and some new wires to install. On my way to get the lamp, I saw an old styled ice called “ Ice drop” . This kind of ice was the shit during my parents' childhood. They used to cost 25 IDR but now it costs 6000IDR.

I usually did not like staying at my grandparents’ home because it can be eerie but since I did a small clean up and renovation, now it’s a decent place to work from. I get to work at the table where my grandpa used to spend his time working. He has many great book collections and photography was also his hobby once. As you see above, he has those photography books. However, cleaning them up would take a while as I have to use gloves and some strong cleaning supplies to preserve the words and avoid dust mites in the process.

I decided to also make this my co-working space as it’s in a gated residency, pretty quiet, and some greenery to look at. It’s not that bad to work from and I can also check on my dad once in a while to make sure everything is fine. Even a little help like the fresh smell of home freshener changed the atmosphere and my step mother was happy with it and said, “ oh now we have more motivation to live more”, it’s kind of sad to hear but I am happy that even the small improvement I made helped cheer them up a little.

It used to be fun here but not anymore because there are too many cars and bikes around here. Do you guys have anyone celebrating CNY? maybe it doesn't work if there's no CNY celebration but who knows LOL

Yeah that's a true thing!

In here, very few people do celebrate CNY. Well, let's see. There are pretty much high chances of rain.
