I'm sure the gym will be packed in the coming days as people make new resolutions and goals for the New Year. For me, I'm taking a more laid-back approach and embracing the concept of "que será, será" because last year taught me that time flies and all that really matters are the good experiences and memories I make. Speaking of which, I had an interesting conversation with some random strangers about economics and inflation the other day. It was interesting to note despite many strange predictions around, regular people are hopeful. Maybe that’s what my approach is this year when it comes to finance, just being more hopeful overall.

I've been seeing a lot of people on Hive setting goals for the new year and I am jumping into that bandwagon.My goal is to write every day for the next 365 days. It's going to be a challenge for a variety of reasons, but lately I've been feeling more inclined to rant online. Once I am getting my finances sorted out again, I plan on powering up again.

In another note, I think the general tech trend in 2023 will be all about AI and acceptance of AI. Speaking of which, when I ask AI what should be my resolution, it said something like this

1. Read one book every month in 2023.
2. Take one long trip to explore a cultural destination in 2023.
3. Take a photography course to improve my #architecturephotography and #travelphotography skills in 2023.
4. Visit two historical sites every month in 2023.
5. Make a list of 10 movies I want to watch in 2023 and watch them all by the end of the year.

I legitimately think they are pretty doable except I've already been to a lot of places here, so I'm not sure if there are newer ones for me to discover. But you never know, I might find a museum or two that I haven't visited yet. Maybe it’s time for me to explore other countries with their museums and historical sites. But for that, I have to do some literature study before visiting these places. I hate going to historical places blind, I like to understand a bit of it just so I don’t fall into the folklore and overhyped potentially made-up stories.

Now, speaking of blockchain/crypto trends, I believe decentralized social networks, or DeSoc, will be a trending buzzword this year, potentially replacing the term web3. I've been seeing this term being used more frequently and I hope that this will be a big year for Hive. When it comes to decentralized socials, it seems like there will be a focus on shorter content, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for longer pieces as well. There are always people who enjoy reading and there's an audience for every type of writing, whether you're a casual ranter, a jack of all trades like me, or specialize in a particular niche.

Last but not least, I have decided to update my blog's footer to reflect my current interests. Moving forward, I plan to continue sharing book, movie, and series reviews, as well as photography and personal development content. Travel may also be on the horizon.
